Fractional HD and Templates [Archive] - Wizards Community

If a templates states to 1HD to the base creature, and the base creature only has fractional HD, would it have a total of 1 HD or 2 HD? I'll assume that there's no 1-1/8 HD, any help is appreciated.

08-27-06, 03:31 PM My guess is round to the nearest. If its 1/8 original then just 1 HD, but if its 3/4 original then 2HD.

08-27-06, 05:37 PM I've never liked fractional HD. They do wonky things within the rules. EXAMPLE: Does a creature with 1/2 a HD only have half his skill points?
