Today on "Cooking with Malchia..."

Myself and our party's Ranger/Rogue recently ran afoul of a Bulette, which we dispatched fairly quickly, being 12th level. I had always pictured them as being Large critters, though on the upper end of Large. Definitely bigger than a horse, at any rate. This belief was reinforced by the picture in the MM. Doesn't it look like you could ride on it? Anyway.

Imagine my surprise when I found out they were Huge!! Bigger than a horse? Dag, his MOUTH is bigger than a horse! Not to say I'm disappointed. In fact, I'm delighted...I haven't even started digging into its corpse yet...

~ahem~ Yes...corpse...which brings me to my point. Such a huge creature doubtlessly has a great deal of bits and pieces that any Wizard worth their salt might be interested in purchasing, for a small fee.

Anyway. My question is, just how big are the teeth on this thing? Dagger-sized, perhaps? Swordy-sized? Any thoughts?

Bulettes have no teeth. They have a razor sharp beak, similar to that of a snapping turtle.

Hmmm, so much the better...maybe I can shear some of that off, and make a sword... XD

I am the Supreme Tamer of Bulettes!

Skreebo, the Enchanter, was walking in a dungeon, when an aasimar talked of a bulette in the next room. Charming the bullette, Skreebo then directed it towards the mind flayers in the next room. The bulette gobbled them up. We then directed it towards the green dragon. It gobbled that up too, taking most of the hits and doing a good deal of damage. Skreebo polymorphed it into a parrot, and keeps it in a cage to this day. I believe in conserving D&D's best natural resource...polymorphed bulettes!

What an extraordinary coincidence!

Recently, a Rokugani wu jen of my acquaintance turned a snapping bulette into a toad. Now the toad is at hand to be lobbed, grenade-like, followed by a dispel magic, into whatever trouble lies beyond the next standard door.

Of course, this is not a rocket you want to have go off in your pocket.
