Hi, i'd like to try something new for our game, and somehow remembered the old Dragonfist spinoff by wizards. Has anyone have a copy of the old Dragon Fist pdf? I tried checking with Green Ronin's site but they don;t have it. If someone would be so kind to email me a copy, we'd be very grateful.

I've actually posted this on the Out of print area, but seems nobody's there.. :(

I wish I could help you, but I don't have it, myself. I'd actually like to get a copy of Dragon Fist, too.

However, if its something you can buy retail I don't think the mods are too keen on PDF requests. (Was DF free? I don't remember...) If it turns out the DF was released as a free download or something at some point, thats a different story.

It used to be a free download at the Wizards Site, but it was taken down between october and december 2002. So, the old download Site, http://www.wizards.com/dnd/DF_Downloads.asp, doesn't work anymore. (I got this link by searching for "http://www.wizards.com/dnd/DF_Welcome.asp" in the Wayback Machine).

The original DF was written by Chris Pramas and was released as an AD&D product download. (FREE!)

WotC later returned the material back to Chris Pramas (now owns/heads Green Ronin Publishing). Many fans have pressured him to make DF for d20. So far, we're still waiting.

Long time no read...
The DF was a very cool concept. A free experimental game (was not supposed to be free but well, with the dawn of 3ed Wizards weren't too keen on releasing such a game), donwloadable by chapters during the span of some months. I made a single pdf combining everything released: character sheets, adventure... Wizards sold the product identity to Green Ronin, and they don't have it for download, also wizards can't offer it since its not theirs.

Anyway, e-mail me and I will send you the FREE pdf. (you read it right mods, FREE).

A guy once made all the "kits" into PrCs, but I saddly don't have them.

I don't think money was exchange between the [e-]publisher and the DF creator-author.

I well remember reading Pramas say "bought all the rights for Dragon Fist" also a "wholesale" and not only the rights, but the ip and whatnot...
I really think Dragon Fist was not released because Chris heard of 4th edition. Maybe he was waiting for the new Ed to come to release Dragon Fist, but with the new OGL (or whatever they call it now) prevents people from publishing games like that, similar to Mutants and Masterminds etc.

But back on track, if you want the Dragon Fist pdf, email me :)

That was me. I think I've still got them on my hard drive somewhere if anyone's interested...although they're for 3.0 and I was never able to playtest them.

Also, I don't come around here anymore. Just stopped in to read some of the tributes to Gary Gygax and thought I'd look in on the OA boards again.
