Hey guys, I am compiling a list of newer Prc that may fit well into a Rokugan campagin setting without taking away from flavor of the setting.

I don't want to just throw in each Prc with no reason so i was thinking of making most clan specific to complement the L5R spirt. Here is some ideas from various WoTC books.

Frenzyed Beserker(CW)- Shadowlands, Bloodlust Beserker
Hunter of the Dead (CW)- Falcon, Torika Witch Hunter
Drunken Master (CW)- Multi Clan
Knight of Chalice (CW)- Crab, Oni avenger
Scout (CA)- Crab, Hirumia Scout
Bloodhound(CA)- Mantis, Wasp bounty huner
Dread Pirate (CA)- Mantis, Storm Privateer
Ghost Faced Killer(CA)- Shadowlands, Kira-Chi Retsu (Cold Blood Killer)
Tempest(CA)- Dragon, Muten Ryoutou

and thats just from the 2 books i own, their must be many more that would fit Rokugan well. My friend showed me the picture of the Master of Masks from the complete schondrel and it seems to fit the Scorpion Butei actor/ assassin spys extremly well.

I would aperate some Prc classes from any book you read that i may be able to incorprate into my new campagin.

Well, in all honesty the D&D rules are so reliant on magic and magic items that they don't fit the L5R spirit at all. The spirit of L5R is in the fact that combat is grim, gritty, and very deadly. Wounds are a real danger, and an injured bushi can be layed up for weeks until he heals, as magical healing is not a luxury enjoyed by just anyone. Magic is a powerful and rare gift, and magic items are unheard of in all but rare and extreme circumstances. And the court is just as deadly as the battlefield.

With that said, lets assume we're talking about "the spirit of L5R if it were a setting with much, much more magic available to it than it currently has."

Frenzyed Beserker(CW)- Shadowlands, Bloodlust Beserker Can also work for Tsuno and goblin hordes.
Hunter of the Dead (CW)- Falcon, Torika Witch Hunter I don't much like the Hunter of the Dead, I'd really just use the Kuni Witch Hunter to represent Toritaka Witch Hunters, too.
Drunken Master (CW)- Multi Clan No Clan. Monks.
Knight of Chalice (CW)- Crab, Oni avenger I'd go with a different name, but ok.
Scout (CA)- Crab, Hirumia Scout This I'd say "Any Clan". Everybody needs scouts!
Bloodhound(CA)- Mantis, Wasp bounty huner There is already a Wasp Bounty Hunter PrC. Maybe the Kitsuki Magistrates and/or a school of Emerald Magistrate that actively hunts criminals?
Dread Pirate (CA)- Mantis, Storm Privateer Again, maybe a different name.
Ghost Faced Killer(CA)- Shadowlands, Kira-Chi Retsu (Cold Blood Killer) I'm not a fan of the class, but it could also work for the Lying Darkness as some sort of Shadow Assassin.
Tempest(CA)- Dragon, Muten Ryoutou I can also see Mantis using this class, what with their dual-wielding kama.

My friend showed me the picture of the Master of Masks from the complete schondrel and it seems to fit the Scorpion Butei actor/ assassin spys extremly well. I thought that at first too, but if you sit down and read what a butei really is, the Master of Masks does not fit at all.

For additions:
CW's Cavalier can fit either the Unicorn or even Lion.
There was a storm focused PrC in Complete Divine that'd make in interesting Mantis shugenja PrC.
Everything in Book of Nine Swords could fit somewhere.
Everything in Heroes of Battle also has a place. Dread Commandos stand out in my mind as an alternate class for Daidoji.

Thanks Narukagami, it is a pity no one else offered advice
(perhaps i should change the thread name to : Katana weilding Korean Troll Ninja PEACH lol)

I think you may be correct with the whole if its true to L5R then its not D&D. I played L5R and it was like running a D&D game with no clerics any where in a 1000 mile radius. The translation did serve well in the conversation as shujenja (the only spell caster) can now have both cures and firepower.

Another proplem i encountered was the whole taint cure thing. I never let someone go to 0 but if all they have to do is 5 days of resoration to go to 1 the taint seems rather jaded (pun intended)

Here some feed back on your responses. I generally agree with ones not mentioned

Frenzed Beseker: Tsuno Ravagers would qualify indeed as would any goblin or bakemono who has the rice sacks. In my camp they all under 1 banner.

Hunter OTD: Kuni witch hunters don't really focus on ghosts or spirts perhaps HOTD is not truly a Falcon Prc it seems to fill a valuable part of there elite warriors. I know the Kuni already have Witch hunters but the Ghost Busters was already taken. I should prob scan Ghost walk for more Prc.

Scouts: I know every side has scouts but the class itself is quite ill named. I would imagine the job of scout is to come back alive and not so much as attacking then moving. Now thinking about it Hurmia are still not the masters of hit and run so i am changing the name to Ratling Skirmisher due to there known hit and run tatics.

Bloodhound: I like your idea about Emerald Magistrates although since there is atleast 6 variant clerics I think i could say that a Wasp could take both bounty hunters.

Master of Masks: I as well was sceptic to the overal theme in this class vs Scorpion counter culture but my player changed the fluff of the class to be useable.

Gladitor Mask- Lion Bushi great helm.
Jester Mask- Hare Acrobat
Assassin Mask- Scorpion Ninja (or Shinobi no ninja LOL)
Demon Mask- Akuma Mask
Lich Mask- Porcelin Mask (The ones that make undead)
Lord Mask- Crane Lord
Faceless Mask- Lying Darkness

Also he is an adventuring Butei so his extra ablties would be better in a fight then regular Butei and he has a Mask of disguise so 1000 faces won't add that much.

Oh and I found a great PRc for a 1 shot Maho villian. Maho 5/ Vermin Lord 5 his swarm............ Nikimitizu!

Frenzied Berserker could conceivably be used for non-Tainted people, most Crab...Hida Amoro, anybody?

If you read the description of Inukai (sp?), sensei of the Razor's Edge dojo, in Way of the Samurai, she seems like an FB.

Scout would have been an ok class for the Hare, I can imagine. Hiruma as well, though they are focused enough on combat that I am not sure they would like giving up a full BAB progression.

Hmmm i would disallow crab FB because it goes heavly aganist the crab concept of team work. Basically no army should allow FB unless they have high will save.

Hmmm i have got a Hare in my party and scout would help him on his way to Blade Dancer for sure.

Oh, I agree fully. Amoro was seen as a dangerous madman and nearly as much a threat to his allies as his enemies (not quite, since he was tolerated).

The Deadeye Berserkers of the Razor's Edge are nearly as bad.
FBs would be a rarity among Crab, but not unheard of.
Hell, Damned berserkers might be FBs. Deal maximum damage to the enemy before dying...sounds like an FB to me (and you have those tsukai-sagasu minders around to prevent them from turning on allies).
