| Hochiu08-17-07, 09:05 AM | Though this'll be swallowed to the whole of the timeless depths of these forums...:D I'm working on my campaign setting and I'm trying to figure out exactly what I want to do with the east. A major focus of this world (the region I'm going to be playing in is Eurocentric) is the fact that the East, known now as th East that Was, had been destroyed due to some supernatural event - something along the lines of an incursion of Shadow (different from the Plane of). This has lead a number of easterners west into the Eurocentric portion of the world creating a cultual mesh of eastern and old western concepts - basically my excuse to allow certain base-classes and to include some non-standard culture groups. The thing is, I don't know exactly what I want as far as cultures to have survived and what to have happened to the east. What I do know is that I want this region to be corruptable, but not like the Shadowlands from OA/Rokugan. :/ That's my biggest plan and biggest problem. Looking down the road, I could see the players going into the East that Was on a higher-level adventure, and find out that the cultures and people that didn't get out in enough time've been corrupted. I see this force as kind of like the Shadow from Wheel of Time, only without as much of the Blight. Another major aspect is that no one goes in, but nothing comes out. So it's just this..dark place on the face of the world. I'm just looking for suggestions or ideas. The world's a pretty big jumble of information and different cultures and technologies floating around. Anything would help. Thanks. |
