calronmoonflower 05-19-07, 04:22 PM	Change their background of the spirits that their ancestors bonded with. They might have once acted as a bridge between the spirit world and the physical plane. You might also give them the spirit subtype.
Nephallim 06-16-07, 01:29 AM	Given Secrets of Sarlona and the flavor of the Path of Light, their religion in Eberron...they're already fairl oriental. Its my own personal opinion and interpretation that Sarlona is Oriental Adventures for Eberron. But, as far as changing their flavor...Kalshtar could be descendens of normal humans who found "Nirvana." Their extra PP and dreamless existence could be the result of an ancestral brush with spiritual perfection.
The Crimson Dawn 06-23-07, 01:04 AM	I agree with Nephallim. If you look at the illustrations of the style of weaponry used by many Sarlonans they are very non-European. Plus the Kalashtar love the monk class, meditate as a cultural identity, and have martial arts known by all on a basic society level (dance of shadows can be seen as being like Tai-Chi in China).
SlanderPanic 06-27-07, 03:53 PM	Posession is a very common occurence in most Asian mythologies. Kalashtar could very easily be normal people bonded with honorable, benevolent spirits. They fight a shadow war against other people who have bonded with (or been posessed by) malevolent spirits. It adds another layer of intrigue to the politics OA is fantastic for.
