I must admit the game is actually giving me some ideas for plots for a all ninja cast. Only problem is how to do it so not everyone is the ninja class? YOu wouldn't need to really be a ninja but you should at least know how to sneak and hide, climb, jump and balance. I saw a feat in Heros of Battle that allows you to take Hide and Move Silently at a 1 for 1 rate if it's a cross class for you... |

While a same-class campaign could be fun, iirc the ninja were a society, and thus they could be with different training - rogues, rangers, scouts, monks, even multi- or singleclass fighters and/or spellcasters might fit right in. |

It's not a superb historical reference on ninja, but for D&D purposes, it's fairly good. Now, for using those ideas in 3E, why bother making the characters take a feat? If the stealth/acrobatic type skills will be necessary for all characters, make them class skills for anyone for this campaign only. You may also want to bump up the classes with only 2+Int skill points per level to 4+Int for this campaign only as well. As for adventures, basically what you get for missions in the games work. Just make sure you make adventures that are easier to complete by stealth/subterfuge (and allow paths for disguise & bluff types, not just stealth types) than by combat. Also remember that combat monkeys and mobile artillery make great distractions to help the stealth members of the team get to the objective. Not everyone in the party needs to be part of the infiltration team. |
