| garou8503-26-07, 02:02 PM | Is there any Prestige that allows you to become a Celestial ?(more along the lines of a Solar) |
| ZeronHitaro03-26-07, 02:25 PM | None that I am aware of. If there is it would most likely be in the Book of Exalted Deeds. If you don't mind Homebrew keep an eye on the Tenshi Base Class in my signature, it offers what you're looking for and is undergoing balance evaluation. |
| garou8503-26-07, 02:29 PM | If there is it would most likely be in the Book of Exalted Deeds. No such luck, I have Book of Exalted Deeds and Complete Divine, no such class. :( |
| Soel Griffin03-26-07, 07:20 PM | If you do third party material (pdf) then here is a cool prc. http://www.rpgnow.com/product_info.php?products_id=21121 Doesn't quite make you a celestial, but you get many mechanical elements of one. You also get an angel spirit companion. |
| hat03-26-07, 08:30 PM | I belive Savage Species has one or two celestial/angel type progressions. Very cool if you can get your DM to run with it. I think they include the following: Astral deva Avoral Hound Archon Trumpet Archon |
| runestar03-27-07, 01:54 AM | You can play an astral deva SS progression (once you work out the few kinks in the entry in the SS handbook). It is actually one of the more balanced monstrous PCs one can play.:) |
| hat03-27-07, 07:26 PM | Yeah to the above. I was having a look at SS and MM 3.5 last night and realised that the celestials have changed a little since SS was published. For instance, the Astral Deva is no longer large and I think some of the spell likes have changed. Easy to fix though and the LA and Hitdice are still the same. |
| Tempest Stormwind03-27-07, 07:38 PM | Although it's not as powerful, no one can deny that the Favored Soul is essentially the same thing as what you're looking for. Spontaneous divine magic, wings, resistance to energy, armed combat, and so on. It's not the same as playing a solar, but it's also far more reasonable (a solar is friggin' powerful). |
| The_Shaman03-27-07, 07:45 PM | Yep, any character will have a lot of problems measuring up to a solar until well into epic, but the Favored Soul can get close. |
| runestar03-27-07, 10:05 PM | IIRC, the astral deva should not become large, and it is missing +8dex. Think it has 1 or 2 other inconsistencies, but can't remember what they are...:embarrass |
| garou8503-27-07, 10:38 PM | what book can I find the favored soul in? |
| Tempest Stormwind03-27-07, 11:33 PM | what book can I find the favored soul in? Most recently, Complete Divine. It also got an Expanded Classes discussion in the PHB2, if you have that, you can read up on it. |
| hat03-28-07, 12:20 AM | There is no Solar progression in SS. However, the Astral Deva and Ghaele are great fun. The Trumpet Archon is also great fun but it may be a little overpowered due to the cleric spells it obtains. |
| smscott03-05-08, 09:12 PM | SOLAR CHANNELER ENTRY REQUIREMENTS Alignment: Any good . Special: Ability to turn undead as a 5th -level cleric. Special: You must have an affiliation score of 9 or higher within the Luminous Order to become a solar channeler. If your affiliation score drops below 9 after you have become a solar channeler, you retain all class features and the ability to advance in the class . Special: Must participate in the Ritual of Feathers from the Shatterd Gates of Slaughtergarde module, page 9. that affiliation score kinda limits it unless your DM wants to ignore that part or put the luminous order in your campaign. but at 5th level of the PrC, you basically become a solar for one rd/ turning attempt you have to blow. |
| Atsettam03-06-08, 01:15 PM | Is there any Prestige that allows you to become a Celestial ?(more along the lines of a Solar) You could try the Infused Prc class. 10 level prc separate progressions for warriors or spellcasters Binds a celestial spirit to your character, which grants you spell-like abilities and changes your form to match the particular race (astral deva, solar, etc) of the celestial. It can be found in Dragon #321 An overview of the class can be found here (http://www.crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3.5Index-Classes-Prestige.pdf). |
