Hi guys and girls,

Does anybody know if their are any good prestige classes that boost Skirmish damage, so far I can only find a mountain-based tracker, that is really location specific.

Ideally something that would be useful to a guisarme weilding spring attacker, super tripper.

Thank you.

I think the best you can get is the PHB ranger with the swift hunter feat... Bonus feats, full BAB, full SA progression, favourite enemy progression, and spells. Could be worse imo :) With a few splatbooks, its casting provides some great boosts that you can use for your tactics (swift haste, etc). Ideally, you might want to look at the homebrew weapon styles in the crystalkeep class compendium or cook one yourself; however, there are some attacks that works without hands (spiked armors, for start, there are others) so you can use TWF and a glaive :) . My favourite combo is scout 4/ranger 16; by delaying the last scout level you can take it when you have the BAB for rapid blitz (presuming it's on the scout bonus feat list - I suppose you can negotiate that with the DM).

Now apart from that... There isn't much, really. Well, there are a few newer PrCs that allow you to advance sneak attack, sudden strike or skirmish, instead of just sneak attack. The problem is, I'm not sure how something like the Hand of the Winged Masters or the Dragon Devotee will help you - although the second eventually gets you the draconic template, which means more strength for tripping. The swiftblade can help, but it requires one level of you having haste, which means at least 5 levels of a full casting class. If your character has a decent charisma, you could use DDevotee to get arcane spells, use another PrC to boost their casting, and end with swiftblade - or just use the battle sorcerer to get into swiftblade.

While it doesn't boost your skirmish ability, the Dervish PrC (Complete Warrior) synergizes with it really well. You can enter a dervish dance and move around, getting skirmish damage added to your attacks. Add this to A Thousand Cuts, and you can get a lot of damage. As far as I know, it should work with a guisarme; an uncommon, but legal weapon choice.
