| big_squirrel03-03-08, 01:57 PM | I was looking around to see if there's any prestige classes that would, as the title says, advance arcane casting and psionics to some degree, and cerebromancer seems kinda boring and flavorless for what I have in mind for the character. has anyone seen anything else? maybe, I dunno... more like the ultimate magus or divine theurge in that it doesn't advance both aspects equally, keeping the caster/manifester level from being as high as it would be with cerebromancer, but does add something unique to the mix. I'd even go for an arcane/psionic PrC that would let me choose which aspect to advance each level and provides some increasingly interesting bonuses, like the geomancer, even though that would mean I'd have to devote a few feats to keep the caster and manifester levels from getting too low. |

| The_Shaman03-03-08, 02:35 PM | I think there was a Mind Mage or something somewhere in Dragon... 313 iirc. |
| big_squirrel03-03-08, 02:42 PM | I was thinking along the lines that there's a mystic theurge as well as a geomancer for advancing divine and arcane magic, there might be an alternate side for arcane magic and psionics as well. |
| dman1123503-03-08, 02:47 PM | Maybe, but there shouldn't be a PrC for dual progression psionic/arcane. Unless it was tremendously different. |
| big_squirrel03-03-08, 02:59 PM | thanks, The_Shaman. that Mind Mage thing seems just the sort of strange combination I was after. |

| dman1123503-04-08, 03:45 PM | They are. MT is divine/arcane, and AH is druid/wizard. Or maybe just druid/arcane, but I think it's druid/wizard. |

Or maybe just druid/arcane, but I think it's druid/wizard.All squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares. Druid is a divine caster. Arcane Hierophant just requires second level divine spells, so a sorcerer or a beguiler or a warmage or a dread necromancer can just as easily meet the prerequisites... especially with some heighten spell cheese. Also, look for a prc or class other than druid that gives trackless step quickly, like a level in wildrunner... either that or find a race that grants it, like bamboo spirit folk. Now it's just a divine/arcane prc. Granted, it would be worth more if you were getting the wildshape bonus, but more spellcasting is always good. Tack on an advanced spell progression like ur priest and you're gold. Edit: Whoops. I forgot the true necromancer. It's requirements reduce it somewhat to cleric/wizard, cleric/sorcerer, or cleric/dread necromancer, but I'm fairly sure that a creative person can get in with something else. It's probably not worth it, but they could. So that's three divine/arcane advancing classes. Not so much for everyone else. |
