| Albetros03-19-07, 08:07 PM | Hi all, I'm currently a 2nd level Diviner. I have the maximum amount of ranks in hide and move silenty. I want to eventually take the assaisin prestige class, should I take a level of rogue and max out the skills at levels 6 and 7, or should I give up. I always thought the idea of an assasin who could sling big damage spells was pretty sweet. |

I always thought the idea of an assasin who could sling big damage spells was pretty sweet. It is okay, but assassin is mostly for rogues as it has a separate progression. Your character just won't get much bang out of it, I'm afraid, although it is an option. There are other classes for you if you want to do it better, though.. If you have 1-2 rogue levels, daggerspell mage can be almost as good and lets you keep most of your casting - top it with some arcane trickster and you're set. If you're in the Realms, btw, consider joining the Imaskari Vengeance Takers. It's a pity that spellcasting is only 5/10 (although I'd ditch 1-2 spell-like abilities and make it at least 6/10, it's not overpowering), but it can be quite useful for a mage. Also, there's the Unseen Seer from CMage, which can also combine spellcasting with some footpadding. |
