| Ecalsneerg09-06-07, 06:38 AM | It's also in the Dungeon Master's Guide, along with the full-sized picture that goes with the face beside this subforum. And, yes, we do call Archmages 'Ming'. |
| lint trap09-06-07, 03:37 PM | And, yes, we do call Archmages 'Ming'. Why do we do that? |
| StevenO09-06-07, 07:07 PM | Why do we do that? Some would do that because the illustration reminds them of Ming the Mercyless from I forget which TV show or movie. Originally the Archmage appeared in the Forgotten Realms Campain Setting but made the transition to the DMG when 3.5 arrived. |
| Jaxgaret09-06-07, 07:41 PM | Ming the Merciless (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ming_the_merciless): http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/2/28/Ming.gif Archmage: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/dmg35_gallery/DMG35_PG179_WEB.jpg |
| The_Shaman09-06-07, 07:46 PM | BTW, is it just me or is the "eyes" robe especially cool? |
| herceg09-07-07, 03:27 AM | Ming is from Flash Gordon. |
| goawayugh09-07-07, 10:18 AM | BTW, is it just me or is the "eyes" robe especially cool? "Iiii seeeeeee youuuuu..." "But, I'm invisible....and ethereal!" "I know....Iii seeee youuu..." Nothing is better than a pure caster. |
