| G_Mancer06-20-07, 10:21 AM | if i'm creating a 6th lvl char whos an ex assain (became nuetral), can i still progress with assassin levels? |
| RealSorceror06-20-07, 10:29 AM | Just ask your DM. He can house rule it. You're just nuetral, so it isn't much of a stretch. If you're interested, there is also an Assassin varient for good aligned players called the Avenger. If all else fails, try and get into the Black Flame Zealot prc (Complete Divine). That will continue your Death Attack progression. |
| goawayugh06-20-07, 10:38 AM | RAW: no. But many people have just limited the alignment restriction on Assassin to "any non-good". Ask your DM. |
| G_Mancer06-20-07, 11:08 AM | can you direct me to the rules as written that say i cant? |
| goawayugh06-20-07, 11:25 AM | CW p.16 |
| G_Mancer06-20-07, 09:12 PM | thank you |
| The_Shaman06-21-07, 06:41 AM | You should be able to get any assassin feature with other PrCs. What are you interested in, the death attack? |
| immortal_fighter06-21-07, 11:14 AM | the assassin is weak, just my opinion. the abilities seem nice but you can become more powerful if you just stay a rogue.my my lvl 7 rogue right now is almost better than the assassin class gets. Plus there are combos out there with other prcs that make assassin useless. I think the only reason people take the assassin prc now is just because of the title, this of course is just my opinion. |

| The_Shaman06-21-07, 12:02 PM | I say your best bet would be the Teflammar Shadowlord from Unapproachable East. It is hard to qualify for (4 feats and a rare ability unless you get a template detailed there), but gets some very good stuff. While you might be appaled at its SA progression (or its lack), it has some of the craziest spellcasting progressions I have ever seen and some stuff that makes you, to put it mildly, hard to get. Think assassin meets shadowdancer, only less sucky. The Shattered Peak Cultist from Lost Empires of Faerun is easier to enter, and gets another set of useful stuff, but it gets wizard-ish spellcasting. Furthermore, it requires you not to have levels in any arcane-casting class, so I guess it is out unless you houserule that assassins lose their casting if they become non-evil. Pity, a very nice 5-level class. Imaskari Vengeance taker and Justice of Weald and Woe could work, but they need a little houseruling (and a lot more spellcasting before you qualify for the IVT, too). Let me know if you are interested. |
