I don't like using spells alot, but I do enjoy Tome Of Battle stuff alot, so I was wondering if it'd be overpowered/broken/etc to replace Assassin spells with progression in Diamond Mind and Shadow Hand manuvers.

Here's a thought: 10 Levels of Swordsage instead of 10 levels of Assassin.

Lose: Spells (what you wanted), 3d6 SA (get 2d6 from Assassin's Stance), and HiPS (use Cloak of Deception).

Gain: Tons of maneuvers, wisdom to AC, free Weapon Focus, no prereqs... am I missing anything?

Uh, well, the fact I did'nt ask for how Swordsage would work better.

I'd just like to have opinions (supported with facts if possible) on wether or not a 'Martial' Assassin is superior to an Assassin with spells.

Thanks.

Well obviously, it would depend on exactly what sort of progression we're talking about here. How about formatting a table for us and asking us to crunch the numbers with you?

Yes, that would make sense.

I had planned to use the Shadow Sun Ninja progression, replacing Setting Sun with Diamond Mind.

So it's a new manuver known at 1st, 3rd, 6th, and 9th levels, new manuvers readied at 5th and 10th, and a new stance at 5th.

Since manuvers should not be a huge part of the class (spells were'nt) I'm trying for a slow progression.

I'll also add the manuver prerequisete from Shadow Sun Ninja, change Setting Sun to Diamond Mind so it's: One second level Diamond Mind or Shadow Hand manuver, a Diamond Mind manuver of any level, and one Shadow Hand manuver of any level.
