Bard Prestige Classes [Archive] - Wizards Community

12-04-07, 11:18 AM What's a good bard prestige class for a character loosely based on Nathan Explosion (Metalocalypse)?

I'm planning on m-classing into warlock, but I'd like to know if there is a prestige class alternative.

(crunch factor not an issue).

12-04-07, 05:34 PM Has to be a Harbinger/Dirgesinger. The Harbinger gets songs that debuff enemies instead of buff allies such as Instill Fear, Encourage Failure, and Dishearten, and the Dirgesinger gets songs called Song of Horror and Song of Awakening. Nuff' said.

I can't imagine a Nathan Explosion-based Bard that wasn't a Harbinger/Dirgesinger, or at least a Harbinger. It fits perfectly.

Harbinger is from Dragon #337 and Dirgesinger is from Libris Mortis. You can also find the Harbinger on page 16 here (http://crystalkeep.com/d20/rules/DnD3.5Index-Classes-Base.pdf).

Also, METAL.

That one is Stormsinger. It's useful if you're doing a seafaring campaign, as the Stormsinger gets most of his kickass-ness when ice or storm, though of course you can induce your own storms as well ^_^.

I personally love the Dervish class. It's only very loosely tied to bard, but the class is pretty awesome.

You could go Bard/Fighter(to get Dervish)/Dervish/Seeker Of The Song. It's a long list of multiclassing, but well worth it in the long run

12-05-07, 06:12 AM Dervish is nifty for bards - especially with the snowflake wardance feat from Frostburn - but the swiftblade (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/prc/20070327)can be even cooler. Haste is one of the ultimate low-level buffs anyway, imo, and this PrC makes it even more awesome. Fighter 4/bard7/swiftblade 9 can be quite decent.

12-05-07, 09:27 AM I think we are straying from the point of "Dethklok-like Bard prestige class." I say War chanter definitely applies. I don't agree with Dirgesinger - it is too emo/goth.

12-05-07, 01:13 PM Not unless you go out and make it. Essentially, all it requires is that you be of non-good alignment, have the specified skills/feats, and in return you get the abilities.

It could work, but from what little I know I could just imagine getting the Doomspeak feat.
