Bear Warriors [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-28-07, 11:12 AM So Im in a campaighn and im looking into Bear Warrior. Well im not too sure how it works. So when you go Bear do you keep using your large greatsword??? Or do you drop it in favor of a claw attacks??? :confused: Any help wuld be awsome:cool:

04-28-07, 01:00 PM well in the example character in the complete warrior, kurag flint-tooth under bear form gives you his stats of what he is like in rage. it looks likes it's only uses the natural weapons of the bear. I'm pretty sure this is because a bear cannot carry any weapons. So i would have to say that you can only use the natural weapons from the bear. I hope this helps.

How could bears hold weapons with theirs paws?

04-30-07, 07:17 AM The point and main use of the bear warrior is to use grapple and trip since you get a huge bonus to str and bonus to size, while you cant use weapons, if you grapple someone, he will not be able neither.

Worry about the wpns when in human form, or just do the Imp. Unarmed Strike feat and build on that (Imp. Natural Attack, Wpn Focus/Finesse, Imp. Critical, etc. [unarmed strike]), which'll carry over to the bear form. Some "martial gloves +X w/ wild and morphing" would do U some good as well.

Read the polymorph/ wildshape feature of this class. Like all others, almost all your gear is subsumed into your new form and is non-functional until that form ends. There are a few magical enhancements/ special items, that bypass this though.

IIRC, it's an exotic weapon that is strapped to the forearm of the druid/shapechanger and is not subsumed into the alternate form. Therefore, it can be wielded while in another form.

That is of course a third party splat, and up to DM caviat. The easiest way is to look for the few items and enchantments out there that allow such things, plus, you can always drop your sword, change, then pick it up, if you have a means to do so.

Which is not the case if you are a bear. :)

05-02-07, 06:30 PM For the bear warrior, you transform into a normal brown bear which functions like polymorph which means all your bear is subsumed into your new form and that is not really that big a deal since you can't wield weapons in your paws anyway.

This prc does not turn you into a hybrid bear-man or were-bear but there are some advantages

There is an armor enhancement that allows you to keep your armor while transformed and there are items called wilding clasps that keep your items on your person when you change. Also, magic fang and permanency are your friends. It is fairly cheap at lower levels to get this going.

I had a character who only took one level of this class but did all of the above.
