Aloha.

Has any clarification been handed down on the Bladesinger in 3.5...

Specifically:

* Does Song of Celerity work with any spells accessed via a spontaneous caster character class? (e.g. Bard, Sorcerer)
* Assuming proficiency with them, can a small shield and/or Buckler be utilized in the off-hand that does not wield a longsword/rapier and still retain class features usage?
* Assuming proficiency with it, can a Buckler be utilized in the primary-hand that does not wield a longsword/rapier and still retain class features usage?
* Does the Improved Buckler Defense feat potentially mitigate issues with any of the previous two questions, since it allows the hand to be "free" from the shield - in other words, the longsword and/or the off-hand remain are as described in the class features.

Cheers Guys!

*****************

Excerpts:

Bladesong Style (Ex): When wielding a Longsword or rapier in one hand (and nothing in the other), a bladesinger gains a dodge bonus to Armor Class equal to his class level, up to a maximum of her Intelligence bonus. If the bladesinger wears medium or heavy armor, she loses all benefits of the Bladesong style.

Song of Celerity (Ex): Once per day, a bladesinger of 4th level or higher may quicken a single spell of up to 2nd level, as if she had used the Quicken spell feat, but without any adjustment to the spell's effective level or casting time. She may only use this ability when wielding a Longsword or rapier in one hand (and nothing in the other). At 8th level and higher, she can quicken a single spell of up to 4th level.

I see no one has answers but here is little help for the clarification purposes, the Improved Buckler Defense feat:

You can attack with an off-hand weapon while retaining a buckler's shield bonus to your Armor Class.

Prerequisite: Shield Proficiency.
Benefit: When you attack with a weapon in your off-hand, you may still apply your buckler's shield bonus to your Armor Class.
Special: A fighter may select Improved Buckler Defense as one of his fighter bonus feats.
Normal: Without this feat, a character wielding a buckler who attacks with an off-hand weapon loses the buckler's shield bonus to AC until his or her next turn.
