Weapons and Armor: A blade weaver gains no new armor proficiency. At fifth level a Bladeweaver gains proficiency with any 3 simple, martial, or exotic weapons of her choice.

Spellcasting: At 2nd and every other level thereafter (4th, 6th, etc.), a bladeweaver gains new spells per day as if she had gained a level in a spellcasting class she belonged to before adding the prestige class, She does not gain any other benefits that a character of that class would gain except for an increased spell caster level. If she had more than one spell casting class before becoming a blade weaver she must choose which class she adds the new level for purposes of determining spells per day.

Effective level of soulknife: At first and every other level there after (3rd, 5th, etc.) a blade weaver increases her effective level for determining the enhancement bonus and total value of the enhancement abilities she may assign her mindblade by 1.

Spellstrike (su): At first level a Bladeweaver learns to channel her spells directly through her mindblade as pure eldritch energy. As a free action a Blade weaver may burn any of her daily spell slots or prepared spells, and gain a +1 on attack rolls and a +1d4 on her damage rolls with her mindblade per level of the spell lost. These bonuses last until the begining of her next turn.

Spellweaver Abilities : A spell weaver may add these enhancement abilities to her mindblade when assigning its abilities.

Spellstoring, Magebane, Flaming ( flaming burst), Shocking (shocking burst), Frost (frost burst), Screaming (burst), Corrosive (acidic burst), Psibane, Profane (burst), Sacred (burst), Enervating, Soulbreaker, Soul drinking, Incorporeal binding, Illusion Bane, Illusion theft, dispelling, greater dispelling (most of these are from the magic item compendium)

Bladestorm Spellweave (su): A number of times per day equal to her class level + her intelligence modifier a Bladeweaver may cast an area spell infused with shards of psionic force. Every creature in the area of the spell's affect takes damage as if struck by the Bladeweaver's mindblade.

Bladewoven spell (su): Whenever a Bladeweaver would make an attack roll for a weapon-like spell (i.e. any ray, or missle spell) she has the option to throw her mindblade as part of the casting. The Bladeweaver makes the attack roll as if she was throwing her mindblade normally, if it hits the both the mindblade and the spell are considered hits. In addition the target's spell resistance (if any) is reduced by one-half the bladeweaver's class level, against the spell carried by the mindblade. This ability may be used with touch ranged spells as well but in that case the blade weaver makes a melee attack instead of a thrown attack. In the cases of spells like produce flame or searing ray that allow multiple attacks from the same casting this ability can be used with each attack granted by the spell, but the reduction to SR deosn't stack.

Signature weaves (su): Choose three spell descriptors (acid, light, good, etc.), and for each descriptor choose a simple, martial , or exotic weapon, you gain proficiency whith those three weapons. In addition whenever a bladeweaver uses one of her class abilities with a spell with one of the three descriptors, she can instantly reshape her mindblade into the associated weapon as part of the casting. Furthermore Each of these Weapons can be assigned enhancement abilities seperately from her base mindblade settings. If a spell has multiple descriptors that match a bladeweaver's chosen three, then the blade weaver can use either weapon. These weapons remain active until the Soulknife changes to another signature weave by casting an appropriate spell or when she decides to return her mindblade to its normal state by taking a free action to do so.

Psychic edge (su): Whenever a blade weaver uses one of her class abilities while her mindblade is charged with psychic strike, the spell's save DC (if any) increases by +1 for each extra dice of psychic strike damage.

Metamagic Blade (su): If a spell has a metamagic feat applied to it and a Bladeweaver uses whith one of her class abilities she may have the feat apply to her mindblade as well. This ability only applies to the base damage dice of the Mindblade, not to set numerical bonuses, or to the bonus damage dice from psychic strike, psionic weapon, or enhancement abilities.

Psychic Recharge (su): Whenever a blade weaver casts a spell and the target saves against the DC She may use the wasted power to recharge her Psychic strike ability without taking an action to do so. She may only use this ability once per round. In order to gather the energy before it disperses the Bladeweaver must make a spell- or psi- craft check against the result of the target's save vs. the spell.

Spellweaver mastery: While any Signature Weave is active, a Bladeweaver is able to overcome a mindless creature's immunity to Psychic Strike damage due to the meshing of Blade and Spell. (Unless the creature is also immune to the spell.)

Ok this class looks finished to me. Questions? suggestions? comments?

I actually really like this PrC, for the most part. Seems like a good way to shore up some of the psiblade's weaknesses, and has some interesting ideas for special abilities.

Spellstrike, I'd like to see a little bit more uniqueness. It's basically arcane strike for free without matching the prereq's, as a bonus feat. I'm not saying it's out of line or unbalanced or anything, and to be honest, I haven't got any ideas that seem better to me, so perhaps this is a wasted statement.

Bladestorm Spellweave is a little unclear in it's wording. If I'm reading it right, when you cast an aoe spell, everyone that it affects also takes damage as if they had been hit the the caster, yes? Does this mean everyone takes 1d6 (if in shortsword mode, say) plus str mod plus weapon abilities? if it does, maybe changing to +wis mod instead of strength, or even int... Also, I'd like to see how this one play tests, it sounds a little overpowered to me, you're effectively giving two attacks, both of which automatically hit and deal damage, in one round. It might not be imba, though.

Bladewoven spell I instantly liked. Seems perfect, and is a cool image, the psiblade cutting through the spell defense just long enough for the spell to slip through easier. Again, could be imba, but I care less if it is, cause I like the imagery. :)

Signature Weaves is cool, lends a lot of martial adaptability to the mindblade without having to burn feats. Maybe make it a full-round action to cast the spell and shape the mindblade all at once...

Metamagic Blade could use some clarification, as some feats are intuitivee (maximize, energy admixture) and some are a touch less (enlarge on a reach weapon? Quicken for free attack?)

Maybe make Psychic Recharge require a spellcraft check as a free action, DC = total of save that the target just made? Maybe something more static for fluidity, but yeah. Seems like it should be an automatic reaction to suck that power back in, otherwise why wouldn't every spellcaster have figured out something they could do with it?

I can't help but feel that this class might be ok without a capstone, which might mean it's a bit powerful as it stands. Again, something worth playtesting.

Good job, though, I'm very impressed with this PrC

Thank you Demented Jester

1. Spell strike's main purpose is to emulate Arcane Strike, the main differences being that you're limited to mindblade attacks, and you can use divine spells. Its not supposed to be original. I wanted this class to work for most casting classes, so I incorporated the arcane strike ability since I felt it was an important first step kind of ability, but just giving them arcane strike precludes druids, shugenja, and clerics.

Bladstorm Spellweave functions as such. First step cast AoE spell, resolve normally, everyone in the area of the spell gets smacked as if you had stabbed them. Its pretty strong but beteen the uses per day limit and the fact that neither blade nor spell is as strong as a mono class character would have I don't see a big issue.

Signature Weaves could be made a little clearer, you can only access the special weapons by casting one of the appropriate spells and using a blade weaver ability, the idea is that they reshape the blade as they cast so if they have a flame burst scythe attuned to their fre spells they cast fireball using Bladewoven Spellstorm and eveyone gets reaped.

Thats a good idea on the metamagic blade ability...hmmm

Psychic recharge as a check, ... i can make that work. I'll make the changes in the morning.

EDIT: Ok so yeah the Meta-magic blade isn't changing, it already says if the feat doesn't affect tthe damage dice of a spell it wont do anything to the mind blade component, but they do have an indirect effect. A quickened hand of flame spell is resolved as a swift action as would any bladeweaver abilities used in conjunction with it.

Worked a Check into the Psychic recharge ability.

Cleared up signature weaves abit.

Made clarifications to Blade woven spell.

Class skill list set.

Finished list of new enhancement abilities options.

Still need to:

Decide on capstone or no capstone.

Bump

seriously no one has anything to say?

It's pretty powerful already, and a capstone might push it over the edge, but off the top of my head a few come to mind:

Spell Weaver Mastery

1: While any Signature Weave is active, a Bladeweaver is able to overcome a mindless creature's immunity to Psychic Strike damage due to the meshing of Blade and Spell. A save against the spell DC negates/halves (can't decide) damage (any Psychic Edge bonuses still apply).

And I can't seem to get the wording on the next one right, but you'll get the idea. :embarrass

2: A Bladeweaver's mastery of Blade and Spell infusions deny the target(s) the use of their Wisdom Bonus when determining their total save against the spell DC when hit with any Bladeweaver ability.

Again, these might move the PrC from "Awesome" to "Broken beyond all reason". Just thought I'd put it out there.

How about this? Spell weaver mastery: The blade weaver has tied magic and mindblade so closely that they bolster and strengthen one another. A blade weaver adds the level of the highest level spell she could cast to her effective soulknife levels to determine the enhancement bonus and enhancement ability limit of her mindblade. This ability only functions if the Bladeweaver sacrifices one of her highest level spell slots for that day when assigning mind blade abilities. In addition she gains a bonus on her effective spell caster level equal to the number of her psychic strike bonus damage dice, this doesn't grant new spells per day, spells known, or higher level spells.

I'm going with Kaizer's first suggestion.

Hello again! Everyone does it in the class page, I think you can do it! Hey, why don't you enter this PrC to the new PrC contest? I think it's very good, it just needs fluff and formatting.

Here it is: The Official Class Cookie Contest II (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=797241)

My entry is the Shadow Nefarite. My poor Soul Knight is still in debate phase, you know! ;)

Because after trying to make character with this class I decided it needed further revision. Hopefully the new version will have well thought out prequisites and be customizable to various spell casting classes.
