| Dethro03-26-07, 04:21 AM | I'm playing in a campaign with a friend of mine, who is notorious for playing Chaotic Stupid, no matter what he is playing. Therefore, I've got a few questions about Blighters. For all below questions, answer as if Ex-Druid6/Blighter10. #1: For the Blighter's Undead Wild Shape, what's the maximum HD creature he can shape into? Would it be 10, or 16? It states that it functions like the Druid's Wild Shape ability, but that still leaves the question as to whether it would jut count blighter levels, or druid as well. If the example character there had been just one level higher then I would have been able to tell, but unfortunately it wasn't. #2: For the Deforestation ability, it states that a blighter can destroy 20ft radius per level of plant life to power his spells. Does that mean if there isn't enough plant life available (for example, only 5ft radius of plant life for a 1st-level blighter, or 150ft radius of plant life for the Ex-Druid6/Blighter10), then he can destroy said plant life, but until he burns enough to fulfill the entire quota then he cannot cast spells? That's about all for now, but perhaps if other people have questions then they can post them here too! |

If so, then the answer in this case should be yes too. If not, it requires further investigation to see if they stack. Read through it from top to bottom (not just the wild shape part) to get an idea of whether the levels stack or not. From the sound of it you would. 2) From the way I've read it the Blighter needs to deforest their level x20 feet radius each day to power up their spells. If they can't find that much then they don't get their new spells that day. |
| Dethro03-29-07, 12:17 AM | Well I've shot off a query to CustServ so hopefully within a few days I'll have a definitive answer to my questions. |
| Dethro03-29-07, 10:47 PM | Well, I've got a response: Response (Brandon) 03/29/2007 09:17 AM Hello Bryan, 1) Unfortunately the HD will be based solely on your Blighter levels for Undead Wild Shape. 2) Correct. It is up to the Dungeon Master to adjudicate any given specific situation mind you. Good Luck and Game On! Therefore, basically the Blighter is even more screwed than before. Maximum of 10HD creature to shape into, and if he isn't in a HEAVILY forested area he cannot cast spells. |
| Beckett03-31-07, 11:36 AM | I worked it out, the deforestation thing once a long time ago, and if I remember it correctly, it would take one Blighter like 35 years( I think) to destroy the earth if they did their power daily and no one added any new plantlife. Keep that in mind when you ok the Blighter. |
| Beckett03-31-07, 11:38 AM | Maybe make it that they must suck their energy from ONE tree that has been alive no less than twice their Class Level makes it a little more playable. And there the fact that entire forests wouldn't become poisonous, diseased rotting mounds of garbage each month. . . |
| Dethro04-01-07, 07:32 PM | Generally the Blighter is designed to be a BBEG. The only people who usually play such characters are generally the power-hungry idiots. |
