ZiggZagg 08-15-07, 04:08 AM	Ok, so I am looking to create a prestige class solely for true dragons that specializes in their breath weapon. Any ideas on some kind of advancement and what they should get? I was thinking a few bonus metabreath feats, the ability to shape it from cone to line, take off a round from their recovery, maybe take off a round from metabreath feats, and increase the DC of metabreath spells. What do you think?
The_Shaman 08-15-07, 04:34 AM	So kinda like Dragonheart mage, but without the casting? You might want to use that one and just introduce a few homebrew draconic feats (it gives you 4 feats, iirc). At least, it's a good place to start - it was in Races of the Dragon iirc.

For advancing Breath weapon Damage say every 2 levels your breath weapon does one breath weapon sized larger (like a young adult doing adult damage.) Make some kind of ability that makes there breath only 1d3 rounds of cool down instead of 1d4 (maybe 1d2 at 10th level) and The ability to make half damage from there element and the other half from sheer force of the breath.

ZiggZagg 08-16-07, 01:48 PM	So far I have kinda what could be compared to the Draconic archmage. I have that at every other level (it is a 12 lvl prestige class), they get a "Breath Weapon Secret". I have 10 of them drawn up. Some are: Demolition Breath- Full damage to objects and ignore hardness. Recovery +1 Breath Blast- Turns breath weapon into ranged touch attack. Recovery +1 Spell Like Ability- Any metabreath spell 5th level or lower at will. +1 Recovery Metabreath Knowledge- Gain Extra Spell as the feat, but only for a Metabreath Spell. This can only be taken once Metabreath Mastery- Gain Extra Slot as the feat, but only for a metabreath spell. Only taken once Metabreath Recovery- -1 Recovery on all metabreath attacks (off the total, not off every feat) Arcane Empowerment- Gain bonus d6 damage equal to spell level sacrificed Arcane Fueling- Reduce metabreath recovery by level of spell sacrificed I have a few others, but they are special abilities that I need to tweak yet. The class also gets bonus metabreath feats every 3 levels, and the DC to their Breath weapon goes up +1 every 4 levels. So that's what I got so far. Then the class has the lowest BAB and all good saves, since Dragons have high saves usually, and a d6 hit die. Also thinking of giving it full caster progression. So, what are your thoughts?
Ultima0071 08-16-07, 01:59 PM	Spell Breath - A dragon can turn any spell she knows into a breath weapon. Her breath weapon does the same effects and damage as she chose. She must sacrifice one spell slot three levels higher than the spell used. Example: A sleep spell is used. Anyone hit by her breath weapon for 1 turn is affected by the sleep spell.
