Can you Qualify for a prestige class with a magic item? [Archive] - Wizards Community

04-10-07, 12:54 AM Though I cannot site the source, I'm almost certain you can use an item that grants a feat to qualify another in the chain. I don't see how or why it would be much different in the case of a PrC.

04-10-07, 01:18 AM the source is somewhere in the FAQ i believe. I think the ruling is basicially as long as you keep the item on you can benifit from the class, if it is ever removed you loose any benifit from the class, HP saves abilities skills ect, until the item is put back on.

EX ring of evasion. as long as you wear it you HAVE evasion for any and all prestige classes. take the ring off and you loose the class, put the ring back on and you are back in the class.

Which is why we DON'T allow it.....it creates WAY to many problems IMO.

04-11-07, 01:52 AM in our group, we just sort of look at the person who requests to do it. Then go technically you can, but we will mock you for being dumb. Then someone will take the item. Possibly pc possibly npc. Now youve got a head ache to worry about.

Technically you can, but it dosn't mean you should.
