Darastrix Vorastrix A darastrix vorastrix (which translates to dragon sorcerer from Dragonic) is a sorcerer that emulates a dragon’s power and mindset. Hit Die: d6 Requirements To become a darastrix vorastrix you must meet the following requirements. Language: Dragonic Skills: Knowledge (Arcana) 4 Ranks Race: Dragonblood Subtype Spellcasting: The ability to spontaneously cast 1st level arcane spells. Feats: Eschew Materials Special: Breath Weapon and Dragonic Totem Class Features Class Skills: The darastrix vorastrix’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are: Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Knowledge (Arcana) (Int), Listen (Wis), Search (Int) Spellcraft (Int), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str), (Plus those granted by your dragon totem) Skill Points Granted at Each Level: 4 + Int Modifier Class Features: All the Following are class features of a darastrix vorastrix. Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A darastrix vorastrix gains no proficiency with any weapons or armor. Dragon Shaman Abilities: Your darastrix vorastrix and your sorcerer levels stacks with you Dragon Shaman level to determine the DC, range, and die of damage dealt by your breath weapon as well as when you gain the Touch of Vitality (heal wounds) class feature and the number of points of damage per day that you can heal. Spellcasting: At every level except 1st and 5th you gain new spells known and spells per day as if you had gained a level of sorcerer. However, your sorcerer caster level increases by 1 at each level. Armored Spellcaster (Ex): Starting at 2nd level you may cast sorcerer spell in light armor without risk of arcane spell failure. Dragonic Toughness (Ex): At 4th level you gain an extra hit point per hit die. This change is applied to all current and future levels. At 8th level you gain another hit point per hit die. These extra hit points stack with those of the improved toughness feat. Improved Dragonic Aura: (Su): At 6th level the bonus of your dragonic auras increases by 1 no matter how you gained the aura. Dragon Casting (Ex): At 10th level you may cast sorcerer spells with any material components or focuses that cost 50 gp or less. Ex-Dragon Shamans and the Darastrix Vorastrix: If you lose your Dragon Shaman class features do to violating your alignment you retain most of your darastrix vorastrix class features, but this class no longer stacks with your dragon shaman level to determine and dragon shaman abilities and can gain no more levels in this class until you regain your dragon shaman abilities. Tougher than any sorcerer with a devastating breath weapon and casting spells without the props used by most sorcerers. Hit Die: d6 Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 4 + Int. Modifier. Dragon Shaman Abilities: Your breath weapon continues to increase in power. Increases by damage dealt by 1d6 and the DC increasing by 1 for every two levels past the Dragon Shaman chart, but its range doesn’t increase beyond the chart. Spellcasting: You gain new spells known and per day after level ten until you reach the spells per day and spells known of a 20th level sorcerer. After that your spells known and spells per day to not automatically increase. Your caster level increases by 1 for every level you are above 10th with no cap. Dragonic Toughness (Ex): This class feature applies to all hit die gained after 10th level, but does not increase after 8th level. Bonus Feats: The epic darastrix vorastrix gains bonus feat every three levels higher than 10th, (13th, 16th, and so on). |
| MageSparrowhawk03-12-07, 09:40 PM | I like this, I don't have much experience with the dragon shaman, so I'm not sure how balanced it is, but it seem like a fair version of a thurge build. Only question is about armored caster; why is it in there? |
