I particularily like the Death Knight, but as a playable character they seem to lack something (that something being 5 levels worth of hit die.). So, working to the tune of +1LA = 2HD, I made this prestige class. Something looks off, though. What do you think?

Death Knight

Skills: Intimidate 8 ranks

Class Skills
The Death Knight’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Hide (Dex), Intimidate (Cha), Jump (Str), Listen (Wis), Move Silently (Dex), Spot (Wis), Swim (Str)

Class Features
All the following are Class Features of the Death Knight prestige class.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Death Knights are proficient with all simple and martial weapons, heavy armor and shields.

Scars (Ex): At 1st level and every odd level afterwards, a Death Knight gains a +1 natural armor bonus, or retains his own natural armor bonus, whichever is higher.

Resist Healing (Ex): At 1st level, a Death Knight becomes bound by undeath, and is considered unwilling for any conjuration (healing) spells cast on him, and must make a will save or only recieve half the benefit from the spell. A death knight takes a penalty on his saving throw equal to half his class level as long as he is alive.

Lead the Forsaken: A Death Knight's unholy presence is strong enough that it attracts undead. Though it is not fully developed at 1st level, it grows stronger as the Death Knight advances in levels. The table below shows the amount of undead who gather per month under the Death Knight. A Death Knight can control as many undead equal to twice his hit die. He can attract Human Warrior Skeletons, Ghouls, Wights and Ghasts with this ability.

Death Knight Undead Followers
Level Skeletons Ghouls Wights Ghasts
1 1d4 - - -
2 1d4 - - -
3 1d6 1 - -
4 1d6 1d3 - -
5 1d6 1d3 1 -
6 1d8 1d4 1d2 -
7 1d8 1d4 1d3 -
8 1d10 1d6 1d3 1
9 1d12 1d6 1d4 1d3
10 1d12 1d6 1d4 1d4

Fear Aura (Su): At 2nd level, a Death Knight becomes shrouded in a dreadful aura of death and evil. Creatures of less than 5HD within 15ft of a Death Knight must make a Will Save (DC10+1/2 Death Knight's HD + Cha modifier) or be affected by a fear spell as cast by a sorcerer of the Death Knight's character level.

Abyssal Blast (Su): Once per day, a Death Knight of 2nd level or higher may unleash a blast of eldritch fire. The blast fills a 20ft radius spread anywhere within a range of 400ft + 40ft per HD of the Death Knight. The blast deals 1d6 points of damage per HD of the Death Knight (max 20d6). Half the damage is ordinary fire damage, but the rest is directly from divine power and cannot be reduced by any resistances that normal fire damage is reduced by. A reflex save (DC10+1/2 Death Knight HD+Cha modifier) halves the damage.

Damage Reduction (Su): At 4th level, a Death Knight gains damage reduction of 5/magic. This increases to 10/magic at 8th level.

Spell Resistance (Ex): At 5th level, a Death Knight gains spell resistance equal to 20 + 1 per level beyond 10th.

Resist Elements (Ex): At 3rd level, a Death Knight recieves resistance to electricity and cold 10. At 6th and 9th level, this resistance increases by another 10.

Charnel Touch (Sp): At 4th level, a Death Knight recieves a touch attack that deals damage equal to 1d4 + the Death Knight's Charisma modifier. Anyone touched by this attack must make a Will Save (DC10+1/2 Death Knight's HD+Charisma modifier) or take the full damage (a successful save halves the damage) and 1 point of Constitution damage. At 8th level, the damage increases to 1d8+Cha.

Resist Transmutation (Ex): At 5th level, a Death Knight recieves a +5 profane bonus on saves against polymorph effects.

Striken Fortitude (Ex): At 8th level, a Death Knight's constitution takes a hit. His Constitution score takes a penalty equal to twice his constitution modifier. However, he also gains 1 bonus hit point for every hit die he has. At this point, negative energy begins to take over the death knight's metabolism. If he successfully saves against any spell or effect that uses negative energy (such as an inflict spell or his own negative energy touch), he instead is healed instead of harmed.

Summon Mount (Su): At 8th level, a Death Knight gains the ability to summon a mount, typically a nightmare, though it may be any other species usually available as a mount. The mount may have no more hit dice than half the Death Knight's character level. If the mount is lost or killed, a death knight may summon a new one after a year and a day.

Persistant after Death: At 10th level, a Death Knight succumbs to a willful sacrifice. His type changes to undead, and he gains all the traits of the undead type, plus immunity to cold, electricity and polymorph effects. He also gains a +4 bonus to Strength, and a +2 bonus to Wisdom and Charisma, but as an undead creature, a Death Knight loses their Constitution score. A Death Knight is immune to turning, but can be banished as an evil outsider can. A banished Death Knight returns to the plane of his god. All their current and future hit die must be rerolled as d12s.

Seriously? Nothing? What have I done wrong? I've just created the martial equivilant to the dry lich. o.o

What is good? What can I improve? Is it hopelessly overpowered?

I think its pretty cool, and I too like the Death Knight template. I dont really have any advise to give you except keep it up, next lets see a Lich class that foregoes the LA.

Monster Manual II, if memory serves.

Anyways, seems like a pretty decent prestige class. With Resist Healing, however, I would say that perhaps it will work a bit differently.

Whenever someone casts a cure or heal spell on you, you are counted as Unwilling and must overcome a save in order to properly accept healing. The DC to properly accept healing is 10+Spell level+Caster's relevant ability+your Death Knight level. Should you fail this save, you will only be healed for half the normal amount.

Then maybe halfway down the line put in something that represents the decline into undeath, such as having it that if you make a save against an inflect spell, rather then take half damaged, you are healed instead by half the damage of the enflict.

Just a small suggestion.

Updated.

About this Lich class, would you rather see an 8 level class that only gives the benefit of the lich template, or a 10 level prestige class that gives something more?

They have that already it is called the dread necromancer.

It is in Heroes of Horror and is a base class

Venenum: Yes, but it has it's own spell list. What about all the other casters who want to be liches?

Consider changing his Hit Die to d10 (it is a warrior PrC after all). In the long run it won't matter (level 10 = d12s), but it makes sense for a Warrior Prc).
