In theory, armor doesn't have a maximum AC bonus based on Con, but it does have one based on Dex. So if you tank your Dex (say 8) but crank up your Con (for elite stats, say 15, modified to 17 as a dwarf, and 18 by the time you get Stone Warden), you could wear Full Plate Armor (normally +8 AC, +1 Max Dex Bonus) and gain +8 AC from the armor and +4 AC from your Con bonus. I can see the argument both ways, and did a search of the boards to no avail. |

No other answer is correct unless it comes with documentation. MY OPINION is that you are using one modifier in the place of another modifier. That place is the Dex spot. There is no such thing as a Con bonus to AC. This is still a Dex bonus, you just use your Con modifier. So, it is a Dex bonus and can be capped by armor like all other Dex bonuses. |

| 1 ton ghost11-16-07, 03:44 PM | i'd be inclined to cap it too. it's just too damn good. a friend used this to terrific effect and i should've looked it over, but alas, no. even raging, his AC didn't change at all; yes, AC goes down, but Con goes up to maintain the balance. then there's all the buffs... it just go so power-gamed i began to employ more Will saves on him. |
| Garonak11-18-07, 03:42 PM | I don't really see the problem in allowing full con to all armors. It's one of the perks in taking this class. Some classes get better combat prowess, some get better spellcasting, some get other abilities, this one gets higher AC. Compare it to Martial Adepts or high lvl monks, the difference isn't that big. |

| Bopple11-19-07, 09:21 PM | According to Sage Advice or FAQ(I can't remember which it was), the max Dex bonus limit also applies to Con. |
