The style has been developed by Tempest Stormwind and Magocrat, based on an idea by Edea... At every third level, she can ready an additional manoeuvre. At fifth and tenth levels she learns a new stance. Ranged Shooting (Ex): The deepwood sniper adds her class level times 10 feet to the range increment of any short or longbow she carries (including composites). Sniper’s Shot (Ex): Starting at 4th level the deepwood sniper suffers only a cumulative -1 for each range increment, rather than -2. Snipers' Eye(Ex): The sniper has great visual acuity and suffers only a -1 per 20ft of distance on spot checks (not the usual -1 per 10ft of distance). Critical (Ex): At 2nd level the critical multiplier for any bow the deepwood sniper has weapon focus for increases by 1 (thus a longbow in her hands has is x4). This bonus increases to +2 at 7th level. Poison Use (Ex): The deepwood sniper of 3rd level or higher can apply poisons without risking poisoning herself. Falling Star Shot: At 5th level, you gain this feat as a bonus feat. If you already have falling star shot, you instead gain astral arrow as a bonus feat (see below). Greater Focus (Ex): You gain greater weapon focus with one bow for which you have weapon focus with at 7th level. Hide in Plain Sight: At 8th level the deepwood sniper gains hide in plain sight as per the ranger ability of the same name. Sniping Mastery (Ex): At 8th level, a deepwood sniper who has successfully hidden at least 30ft away from her target and makes one or more ranged attacks can then immediately hide as a free action with a -10 penalty on the hide check (instead of the usual -20 for sniping). Astral Arrow: At 9th level, you gain this feat as a bonus feat. If you already have astral arrow, you instead gain martial study (any falling star manoeuvre) as a bonus feat, which does not count against the limit of 3 such feats. True Strike (Su): A 10th level deepwood sniper gains a special boost manoeuvre. It has an initiation time of swift, but functions otherwise in every way as the spell with the same name. This counts as a falling star boost for all purposes, and you gain one extra readied manoeuvre slot, which must be used for this boost. ----------------------- So, thoughts and opinions? :D |
| Aage07-08-07, 09:34 AM | One more try :bump: |
| atomisk945507-23-07, 05:12 PM | this needs more fluff |
| The_Shaman07-23-07, 05:22 PM | The fluff is in Masters of the Wild, I guess :P BTW, the original was not limited to bows nor elfbloods. Why have you put these restrictions? There aren't many good Xbow classes as it is, Aage |
| Yue Ryong08-04-07, 06:26 PM | I'd like to second The Shaman's queries concerning prerequisites. Why the shift? |
| vanias708-05-07, 01:15 AM | Imo the true strike is too imba as swift to be used as a class feature. (aka unbalanced) Apart from that it seems ok  |
