| l3tts07-08-07, 06:18 PM | I have some questions about the Devote Defender prestige clase. He has 3 habilities. Harmful Way (translated from "Camino daņino" in spanish) - The devote defender can recive the attack targeting a mark. That means that the attack has to beat his armor class or he recives the damage directly?? Defensive Strike - Can make an oportunity attack against the enemy who attacks the mark. Deflect Attack - With an oposing attack check the Devote Defender can deflect an attack going to the mark. Defensive Strike and Deflect attack can be use togheter? I mean, deflect the incoming attack and attack the enemy. Can I do that even If I cover the harmfull way?? A friend and I are planing to do 2 devotte defender brothers, one whit great AC and the other whit great BAB, so the work togheter. Help us ;) |

The way it works is, when someone declares an attack on your charge (or "mark"), you can swap places with the charge and take the attack yourself. You have to do this before the attack is rolled, but it's rolled normally against your AC, meaning it might miss. (2) Since both Defensive Strike and Deflect Attack require someone to "attack your charge," an attack on your charge could potentially trigger both abilities. I'd say they can both be used, but you might want to get your GM's okay on this, as it's a bit fuzzy. You can't use Deflect Attack or Defensive Strike if you use Harm's Way. Both abilities are triggered by an attack on your charge, but Harm's Way takes place before the attack on your charge...you're preventing the attack from being aimed at your charge by taking it yourself. |
