| G_Mancer08-31-07, 05:08 PM | I'm trying to make a PrC for melee characters. it's a 5 lvl class right now, but i'd like to get it up to a 10 lvl class. some pre-reqs might be: a BAB of +6 9 ranks in Intimidation and Spot Peaceful contact with a dragon of Adult or older my ideas was to give a character ability/enhanced ability to rage with draconic abilities called Dragon Rage or Dragonwrath 1st lvl "Intimidating presnce" gain a bonus to intimidation equal to your class lvl BAB-0, Fort+2, Ref+2, Will+2, "Rage 1/day" 2nd lvl "Dragonwrath": gives you the ability to rage (or enhanced ability). 1/day +2str, +2Nat. armor, Gives the ability to do a breath weapon: choose each time- line of Fire or Cold dealing damage based on your class level with a DC of 10+class lvl+Con, or if you already have one, Your breath weapon DC raises by 2 (stacks with everything). if you already have a breath weapon, you can use your type (cone/line of X element) a number of times equal to 1/2 class lvl until your rage ends, waiting 1d4 rounds before you can do it again. This stacks with any rage or frenzy ability you might already have. Breath weapons gained from this class used during your rage do not count against the number of times/day you can use a breath weapon you might already have BAB-1, Fort+3, Ref+3, Will +3 3rd lvl "Frightful Presence" (as the feat in Dracinomicon), BAB-2, Fort+3, Ref+3, Will+3 4th lvl "Rage 2/day" BAB-3, Fort+4, Ref+4, Will+4 5th lvl "Dragonwrath Advanced" your bonuses while raging increase to: +4Str, +4Nat. Armor, The ability to do Cones instead of lines and the additional choices of lightning or acid damage instead of Fire or cold. BAB-3, Fort+5, Ref+5, Will+5 Chart: Damage Fire lvls1-2 2d10 lvls 3-4 4d10 lvl5 6d10 Cold lvls1-2 3d6 lvls 3-4 5d6 lvl5 9d6 Lightning lvls1-2 2d8 lvls 3-4 4d8 lvl5 7d8 Acid lvls1-2 3d6 lvls 3-4 5d6 lvl5 9d6 I'm going to keep editing this post when suggestions are made. |

One build I'm really looking forward to trying it a Half-Orc Barbarian/Duskblade/Dragon Disciple; loads of Str along with the chance to use True Strike before making that first big raged attack. As far as Dragon Racial HD are conserned I almost think they are class worthy WITHOUT anything special. After all you get FULL BAB, ALL good saves, a d12 HD, and six skill points per level; the only thing comprable are Outsider Racial HD which trades the d12 down to a d8 but ups the skills to eight per level. |

I had looked at that, and almost used it as a base for a new one, but decided a 5 lvl class woudl be better. i also didn't want to have any spellcasting involved yet. i want it similar to dragon devotee in some ways, but more of a brute role. Looking at what may be a class suggestion it just seems like a Barbarian variation. Making a PrC for melee types is pretty broad. |
| G_Mancer09-01-07, 01:03 AM | which is what i'm looking for. i want a fighter or dragon shaman or barbarian or ranger or ect.(you get he point) to be able to enter this class if he makes contact with a dragon. a PC might feel he owes the dragon to take up quests for the dragon who has been wronged. He might feel anger on what's been done and grow into this class as he rights wrongs or something. maybe he does dirty work for an evil dragon. i don't know, all of this "fluff" is up to the player. (role playing option only, not a pre-req of any kind) it's not for a specific character i have in mind. actually it's for a couple that I've played through out the years, where dragon disciple didn't fir because of spell casting and Dragon Devotee didn't fit because of the whole wanting to breathe fire breath to scare crap out of NPC/opponents. |
| imakuni6709-01-07, 09:27 AM | There are some nice dragon friendly PRC's in the Draconomicon. It's a great book. |
| Athaal09-01-07, 01:20 PM | I second that. |
