Skidz 04-04-07, 10:11 AM	I was looking for a Prc for a sorcerer. I have looked through this board and i didn't really see anything on the DragonHeart Mage from the Races of Dragon. How does it stack up? Is it good bad in your opinion? Is there anything better for a prc at low midlevel 6th to 10th lvl?
DarkRhystar 04-04-07, 04:57 PM	It's not bad, but losing 2 caster levels for the Draconic feats isn't exactly a great trade IMO. Compare that to, oh say, 8 levels in the Sand Shaper prestige class of the Sandstorm book which adds about 40 new spells to your known spells list along with a bunch of other stuff at the cost of 1 caster level. The Frost Mage of the Frostburn book gives you full-casting progression, +4 natural armor, 4 new known spells, and a bunch of other goodies. Just look around and you'll find a couple you like.
Barloch 04-04-07, 10:34 PM	Incantatrix (players guide to faerun) is a great sorc prc, most of its abilities are kind of "meh" unless you have another caster in your party, but it has full casting progression, bonus metamagic feats, and at 10th level your metamagic feats take up spellslots of 1 level lower. Which is fantastic. Just take the metamagic specialist variant from the PHB2. The initiate of the seven fold viel is, imo, one of the best PrCs there is. Full casting progression, incredibly defensive abilities, the only down side is the feats required to enter it. The wild mage is a fun PrC as well, most of their abilities are again "meh" but the few that do stand out are quite nice and again a full casting progression. If you ask me though, very little PrCs have abilities warranting losing a caster level. Malconvoker would be an exeption to this, maybe a couple others I can't think of off the top of my head.
