Druid/Ranger PrC? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Nature's Warrior every other level you get spell progression; Warshaper won't progress your spells any.

If you play a Druidic Avenger (http://www.systemreferencedocuments.org/35/sovelior_sage/unearthedCoreClass.html#druidic-avenger) varient you can take prestige classes that require rage as a prereq at the expense of a companion, a weakening of your Wild Empathy, and no spontaneous casting.

You could play a straight druid similar to a ranger if you take track and two weapon or some archery feats. You can take hide and move silent as cross class skills. Your companion will be better, your spells will be better, your wild empathy will be better (they don't stack, unless you take shared empathy feat!), and your wild shape would be better.

You have spells that can make you beefy and spells and wild shape that can make you stealthy.

Anyhow once again I'm interested in the replies here since I'm playing a barb / ranger who has thought about taking some druid too but is still undecided. :D

02-01-08, 06:33 AM Do you mean a full-BAB prestige with druidic casting, or anything that could work well and fit fluff-wise?

If the latter, pretty much most druid-oriented PrCs can work. There are the Master of the Yuirwood (UEast, elf and maybe half-elf only), Lion of Talisid (BoED, exalted), Abolisher (Lords of Madness) and a few others... What setting are you playing and what books are available?

For bard/rangers, if you have more than a few levels then PrCs with separate spellcasting can also be quite good. If you have UEast (that book has some great PrCs, and useful information on some rather unique regions, too), the Runescarred Berserker and the Nentyar Hunter can both fit your taste. Other than that, I think pure druid is better than most druid PrCs, even in your case.

There arn't that many worthwhile prestige classes based around Rage, especially for a Druid. It's better to just focus on shaping if you are going to be a Druidic Avenger.

As always it depends what you want to do, shape or cast spells. Ranger opens up some more combat oriented PrCs.

Nature's Warrior stacks with Druid for Wildshape, gives some interesting bonuses, and +1 to a casting class every other level. You lose 3 caster levels but that's not as bad as most that focus on shaping. And Ranger gives you the only feat you need to qualify. I think it was actually designed for Druid/melee class combinations.
