So if I'm understanding 3.5 vs 3.0 the druid no longer gets a bunch of animals, just one that get progressively better. Now this is pretty important considering the major benefit to one of the prestige classes that the druid in my campaign wants is the class that gives her more animal companions. I don't recall the name but I think its tamer of beasts. Basically it pretty effectively doubles your animal companion HD.

So has anyone done any work on adapting this to 3.5? I know that WoTC has said they have not. But have any of you guys on here come up with any ideas. I know she can get the Wild Cohort feat which is pretty close to the animal companion. But as far as prestige classes go has anyone worked with any that affect animal companions?

She has also already taken the exalted feat that turns her companion into a celestial creature (I'm not sure who she's more interested in RP'ing the druid or the wolf.) I'm sure she will take the wild cohort feat as soon as she knows about it (this evening when I get home) but her next question will be about the prestige class.

(also directions to threads I wasn't able to find in my search are perfectly acceptable.)

I sincerely apologize. I appear to be an idiot who can't put this in the right section. I was thinking classes and clicked on the races section. Unless Druid has recently been declared a race this is decidedly in the wrong section.

PrC levels stack with Druid levels for determining animal companion bonus plus an additional 3, even above Character Level, which is pretty significant. It also grants additional animal companions as you rise in level.
