| Pitiless_Interfector01-29-07, 10:10 AM | I'm sure others have already taken a crack at it, but on the off chance no one has come up with similar prestige classes already, here's a pair of relatively well-fleshed-out classes followed by numerous threads for possible classes, which are intended to be bait to get other people to do my work for me. Note: To get the most out of these, you will need Fiendish Codex I, Fiendish Codex II, Complete Arcane & Complete Mage Eldritch Diabolist HD: d8 Attacks and saves: As warlock Req: Alignment: Lawful evil Skills: Bluff 9 ranks, Knowledge (the planes) 9 ranks, Speak Language (Infernal) Feats: Fiendish Heritage, Fiendish Power Warlock Invocations: Must know beguiling influence, brimstone blast, and devil’s sight Special: eldritch blast 3d6, Arcane caster level 6th Note: Tieflings can take the class with only 8 ranks of Bluff and Knowledge (the planes), so long as they know beguiling influence and devil’s sight and have arcane caster level 5th 1: See in darkness 2: Summon baatezu 1/day (barbazu), telepathy 3: Fire resistance 5 4: Hold person, cold resistance 5, summon baatezu (kyton) 5: Fire resistance 10, eldritch hellfire 6: Unholy blight, acid resistance 5, summon baatezu 2/day (bezekira) 7: Fire resistance 15 8: Persistent image, poison immunity, summon baatezu (osyluth) 9: Fire resistance 20 10: Greater teleport, infernal apotheosis, summon baatezu 3/day (hamatula) [+1 level of existing invoking class at 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, & 9th] Class Skills (2 + Int mod per level): Appraise, Bluff, Concentration, Craft, Decipher Script, Diplomacy, Disguise, Escape Artist, Forgery, Gather Information, Hide, Intimidate, Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (history), Knowledge (local), Knowledge (nobility and royalty), Knowledge (religion), Knowledge (the planes), Listen, Move Silently, Perform, Profession, Search, Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand, Spellcraft, Spot, Use Magic Device. See In Darkness (Su): At 1st level, an eldritch diabolist gains the supernatural ability to see perfectly in darkness of any kind, from a simple overcast moonless night up to a deeper darkness, damning darkness, blacklight, or utterdark spell. Summon Baatezu (Sp): At 2nd level, an eldritch diabolist gains the ability to summon devils from the Nine Hells to do his bidding. This ability is useable once per day, and follows all the rules for the summon baatezu ability of true devils, as given in the Monster Manual. Telepathy (Su): At 2nd level, the eldritch diabolist gains the supernatural ability to communicate telepathically with any creature within 100 feet that has a language. It is possible to address multiple creatures at once telepathically, although maintaining a telepathic conversation with more than one creature at a time is just as difficult as simultaneously speaking and listening to multiple people at the same time. Energy resistances (Ex): At 3rd level, the eldritch diabolist gains fire resistance 5. This increases by 5 at every odd-numbered level (10 at 5th, 15 at 7th, and 20 at 9th). He gains resistance to cold 5 at 4th level and acid 5 at 6th level. Eldritch Hellfire (Su): At 5th level and above, an eldritch diabolist’s brimstone blast (including the continuing burn damage) deals hellfire damage rather than ordinary fire damage [see Fiendish Codex II for more on hellfire]. Hold person (Sp)*: At 4th level and beyond, the eldritch diabolist can use hold person at will, at a caster level equal to his invocation caster level. The save DC is 13 + the eldritch diabolist’s Charisma modifier. Unholy blight (Sp)*: At 6th level and beyond, the eldritch diabolist can use unholy blight at will, at a caster level equal to his invocation caster level. The save DC is 14 + the eldritch diabolist’s Charisma modifier. Persistent image (Sp)*: At 8th level and beyond, the eldritch diabolist can use persistent image at will, at a caster level equal to his invocation caster level. The save DC is 15 + the eldritch diabolist’s Charisma modifier. Immunities: (Ex): At 8th level, the eldritch diabolist becomes immune to poison. At 10th level, he becomes immune to fire damage. Greater teleport (Sp)*: At 10th level, an eldritch diabolist can use greater teleport at will, but can only transport himself, a familiar, special mount, or animal companion (if he has any), and up to 50 lbs of worn or held inanimate objects. His caster level for this ability is equal to that for his warlock invocations. *These spell-like abilities require somatic gestures and thus are subject to arcane spell failure [unless the warlock is wearing light armor and no shield; or medium armor with the Battle Caster feat]. Infernal Apotheosis (Ex): At 10t level, an eldritch diabolist attains the apotheosis he has long sought. He gains the lawful and evil subtypes, he does not gain the extraplanar subtype when in the Nine Hells, his attacks with natural and manufactured weapons overcome DR as lawful and evil weapons, he gains DR 5/silver and good, and his resistance to cold and acid both increase to 10. He also acquires the Baatezu subtype (though by the time this class feature is gained, he has already acquired the traits of the subtype). Eldritch demonologist HD: d8 Attacks and saves: As warlock Req: Alignment: Chaotic evil Skills: Intimidate 9 ranks, Knowledge (the planes) 9 ranks, Speak Language (Abyssal) Feats: Fiendish Heritage, Fiendish Power Warlock Invocations: Must know beshadowed blast, darkness, and entropic warding. Special: eldritch blast 3d6, Arcane caster level 6th Note: Tieflings can take the class with only 8 ranks of Intimidate and Knowledge (the planes), so long as they know darkness and entropic warding and have arcane caster level 5th 1: Telepathy, electricity resistance 5 2: Summon tanar’ri 1/day (abyssal eviscerator), fire resistance 5 3: Electricity resistance 10 4: Deeper darkness, cold resistance 5, summon tanar’ri (bar-lgura) 5: Electricity resistance 15, primal blast 6: Unholy blight, acid resistance 5, summon tanar’ri 2/day (babau) 7: Electricity resistance 20 8: Telekinesis, poison immunity, summon tanar’ri (vrock) 9: Immunity to electricity 10: Abyssal apotheosis, summon tanar’ri 3/day (hezrou), greater teleport [+1 level of existing invoking class at 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, & 9th] Class Skills (2 + Int mod per level): Bluff, Concentration, Craft, Diplomacy, Disguise, Escape Artist, Forgery, Gather Information, Handle Animal, Hide, Intimidate, Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (dungeoneering), Knowledge (history), Knowledge (local), Knowledge (religion), Knowledge (the planes), Listen, Move Silently, Profession, Search, Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand, Spellcraft, Spot, Survival, Use Magic Device. Summon tanar’ri (Sp): At 2nd level, an eldritch demonologist gains the ability to summon demons from the Abyss to do his bidding. This ability is useable once per day, and follows all the rules for the summon tanar’ri ability of true demons, as given in the Monster Manual. Consult the table above for the creatures summoned (of which some are from Fiendish Codex I: Hordes of the Abyss). Telepathy (Su): At 1st level, the eldritch demonologist gains the supernatural ability to communicate telepathically with any creature within 100 feet that has a language. It is possible to address multiple creatures at once telepathically, although maintaining a telepathic conversation with more than one creature at a time is just as difficult as simultaneously speaking and listening to multiple people at the same time. Energy resistances (Ex): At 1st level, the eldritch demonologist gains electricity resistance 5. This increases by 5 at every odd numbered level (10 at 3rd, 15 at 5th, and 20 at 7th). Deeper darkness (Sp)*: At 4th level and beyond, the eldritch demonologist can use deeper darkness at will, at a caster level equal to his invocation caster level. Unholy blight (Sp)*: At 6th level and beyond, the eldritch demonologist can use unholy blight at will, at a caster level equal to his invocation caster level. The save DC is 14 + the eldritch demonologist’s Charisma modifier. Telekinesis (Sp)*: At 8th level and beyond, the eldritch demonologist can use telekinesis at will, at a caster level equal to his invocation caster level. The save DC is 15 + the eldritch demonologist’s Charisma modifier. Immunities: (Ex): At 8th level, the eldritch demonologist becomes immune to poison. At 9th level, he becomes immune to electricity damage. Greater teleport (Sp)*: At 10th level, an eldritch demonologist can use greater teleport at will, but can only transport himself, a familiar, special mount, or animal companion (if he has any), and up to 50 lbs of worn or held inanimate objects. His caster level for this ability is equal to that for his warlock invocations. *These spell-like abilities require somatic gestures and thus are subject to arcane spell failure if the warlock is wearing medium or heavy armor or carries a shield. Abyssal Apotheosis (Ex): At 10th level, an eldritch demonologist attains the apotheosis he has long sought. He gains the chaotic and evil subtypes, he does not gain the extraplanar subtype when in the Abyss, his attacks with natural and manufactured weapons overcome DR as chaotic and evil weapons, he gains DR 5/cold iron and good, and his resistance to cold, acid, and fire all increase to 10. He also gains the tanar’ri subtype. Prestige Class Seeds [just add Smart Water]: *Barbarian/warlock who adds metamagic effects to his eldritch blast while raging. *Warlock/dread necromancer who can use the dead walk with no material component and blends his charnel touch with his eldritch blast. *Warlock with Mage Slayer and either voracious dispelling or tenacious dispelling who gains SR and increasingly potent mage-slaying abilities, including 3/day antimagic field and 1/day Mordenkainen's disjunction, use devour magic as a 30-ft. ray; also recoups lost caster levels from Mage Slayer and related feats, but only for spell-like class features and warlock invocations. *Warlock version of archmage (req: Ability focus with any two invocations [other than eldritch blast], Knowledge (the planes) 15 ranks, Use Magic Device 15 ranks); trades 5 levels of invocation knowledge [offset by caster level increase as per the hierophant] to improve those he already knows. Example: Voracious dispelling duplicates slashing dispel (2 points of damage/level rather than 1), apply Dark One's own luck to attack rolls or a kind of skill check, breath of the night creates solid fog, hellrime blast freezes target in place with feet-encasing ice with 5 hp/caster level and break DC = caster level + Cha modifier, entropic warding hides scent (as the spell in Spell Compendium, with personal range), causes ranged attack deflected by the miss chance to rebound on the attacker with a 50% chance (rolled separately); etc. *Warlock with martial weapon proficiency and hideous blow can infuse a held weapon with powerful eldritch essence effects; negates arcane spell failure for hideous blow; allows an eldritch blast delivered with a melee attack to ignore spell resistance; allows hideous blow to apply to a full attack (including a Whirlwind Attack, if you have the feat); allows any weapon held to overcome DR as a magic weapon; *Warlock with Point-Blank Shot, Precise Shot, and Far Shot loses invoking levels to gain improved eldritch blasts, including the ability to weave together essence combinations such as noxious utterdark blast, frightful brimstone blast, bewitching vitriolic blast, etc.; gains bonus feats such as Ranged Disarm; can fire eldritch blasts as a ranged weapon, making iterative attacks on a full attack. *Warlock gives up eldritch blast damage and eldritch essence and blast shape effects in exchange for additional invocations. *Warlock with eldritch glaive can shape his eldritch blast into an eldritch blade; see the v3.0 soulknife prestige class for ideas. If you have any further ideas, including additional seeds; partially or fully detailed game mechanics for a seed, or comments and playtesting anecdotes about balancing a particular seed, feel free to post.:D |

| Pitiless_Interfector06-19-07, 10:10 PM | Sidhe Courtesan HD: d6 BAB: Avg. Saves: poor Fort, poor Ref, good Will Class Skills (6+Int Mod): Appraise, Bluff, Concentration, Craft, Decipher Script, Diplomacy, Disguise, Handle Animal, Hide, Intimidate, Knowledge (arcana), Knowledge (nature), Knowledge (nobility and royalty), Knowledge (the planes), Knowledge (religion), Listen, Move Silently, Perform, Profession, Ride, Search, Sense Motive, Sleight of Hand, Spellcraft, Spot, Survival Requirements: Languages: Sylvan Skills: Knowledge (nature) 4 ranks, Spellcraft 9 ranks Feats: Fey Heritage, Fey Power, Fey Presence Invocations: call of the beast, see the unseen, witchwood step Special: Invoker level 6th. Special: Feytouched need only 8 ranks of Spellcraft and arcane caster level 5th, and need not have the Fey Presence feat or know the witchwood step invocation to gain entry. All other requirements apply. 1: Shapeshift, supernatural stricture 2: Facedancer, +1 level of existing invoking class 3: Fury of the storm 4: Manifold charm, +1 level of existing invoking class 5: Moonlit Magic 6: Bewitching geas, +1 level of existing invoking class 7: Create fey ring 8: Bewitching charm, +1 level of existing invoking class 9: Timeless body, belittling transformation 10: Fey transformation, waking dream, +1 level of existing invoking class Shapeshift (Su): As the druid alternative class feature, PHB II pg. 40. Supernatural Stricture (Su): You are bound by the ancient laws of the sidhe court (well, more like guidelines). You are proscribed from intentionally entering a dwelling without permission. You may not cross running water (this includes rivers, brooks, and streams, but not lakes, bogs, marshes, seas, or oceans). Lastly, you may not carry or wear iron or silver in any form (including cold iron, alchemical silver, or Abyssal bloodiron). Breaking these strictures imposes a cumulative -1 penalty on all attacks, saves, and checks for 24 hours. While iron or silver is in contact with you, you may not use warlock invocations (including eldritch blast) or any spell-like or supernatural abilities gained from levels in sidhe courtesan. Facedancer (Su): You may use disguise self, as the spell. However, the disguise includes tactile sensations, and thus the only way to gain a saving throw to disbelieve is to beat the courtesan's Disguise check with a Spot check, to use true seeing or similar magic, or be alerted of the disguise's illusory nature by another character who has pierced the disguise through one of the above methods. Fury of the storm (Sp): This invocation (Lesser, 3rd) functions identically to the spell call lightning. Manifold Charm: You may now maintain a number of simultaneous charm invocations equal to your Charisma bonus or 1/2 your class level, whichever is lower (minimum 2). If you exceed this limit, you must choose which creature to release. If your Charisma bonus drops, the oldest charms are released first. Moonlit Magic: Under the light of the moon (outdoors and aboveground at night) all warlock invocations you use receive a +1 bonus to their caster level and save DC (this stacks with the Fey Power feat). If you are also in a fey ring at the time, your invocations (including eldritch blast) receive the benefits of the Empower Spell and Extend Spell metamagic feats, without increasing their invoking time or effective spell level. When in a fey ring under the light of the full moon, you and up to 8 creatures holding hands may use plane shift to travel to the Plane of Faerie (or Thelanis in Eberron). Unlike most visitors to the Plane of Faerie, time lost due to the flowing time trait does not catch up with you or your companions upon returning to the Material Plane. However, if they leave and then return without your help, they are subject to the same drawbacks as any other character. You gain this protection regardless of by which method you reach the realm of the fey. Bewitching geas (Sp): This invocation (Lesser, 4th) functions as the spell lesser geas, but can affect any creature whose HD do not exceed your caster level (including bonuses from feats, class features, and magic items). You may have one bewitching geas in effect at a time per point of Charisma bonus (maximum 1/2 your class level, minimum 1). Create Fey Ring (Su): You may create a minor fey ring (DMG II pg. 43). This requires one week of meditation in a quiet, natural setting. You may only have one fey ring in existence at one time; if a new ring is created the old one fades away. You need not pay the requisite cost in gold or XP to create the ring, and when you become capable of casting greater invocations, the ring automatically improves to a moderate ring. If you become capable of casting dark invocations, it improves to a major ring. The effects use your Charisma modifier to determine the DC. Anytime you create a new ring, it is automatically of the highest grade available. You are immune to the effects of the ring, and you can extend this immunity to a number of additional creatures equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1). Bewitching Charm (Su): Creatures ensnared by your charm invocation will follow even self-destructive or suicidal orders, though you take a -10 penalty on the Charisma check. Timeless Body: As the druid class feature. Belittling transformation (Sp): This invocation (Greater, 5th) functions like the baleful polymorph spell. Faerie form: Your type changes to fey, and you gain a deflection bonus to armor class and a sacred (or profane) bonus on saving throws equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum +1). You are now effectively immortal; you age only a fraction of a second each day, and will not die of old age for eons to come. In addition, you may use the spell-like abilities granted by Fey Presence and Fey Legacy each three times per day. Dreamwalk (Sp): This invocation (Greater, 6th) functions as the ethereal jaunt spell, though you may only carry 50 lbs. of objects with you and must maintain concentration to remain ethereal. When the effect ends, you lose an action, as described for dimension door. |
