| calronmoonflower05-27-07, 04:04 AM | Exalted Soul The power of good exists within every living thing. Those few that learn to harness the inherent divine power with themselves, the universe, and of a deity are known as exalted souls. Hit Die: d8 Requirements Alignment: Good Meldshaping: The ability to shape three soulmelds. Spellcasting: The ability to cast 2nd level divine spells. Skills: Knowledge (the Planes) 4 ranks, Knowledge (Religion) 4 ranks. Essentia Pool: 3 Class Skills The exalted soul’s class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are: Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Diplomacy (Cha), Heal (Wis), Knowledge (arcana) (Int), Knowledge (history) (Int), Knowledge (religion) (Int), Knowledge (the planes) (Int), Profession (Wis), and Spellcraft (Int), plus and granted by domains. Skill Points at Each Level: 2 + Int modifier. CLASS FEATURES Weapon and Armor Proficiency: An exalted soul gains no new weapon or armor proficiencies. Meldshaping: At each level except 1st, 5th, and 10th a exalted soul increases in meldshaper level, the number of soulmelds you can shape, the number of soulmelds you can shape, and essentia pool as if you gained a level in a meldshaping class that you belonged to before you gained the exalted soul level. You do not gain any other abilities of that class such as new tiers of chakra binds. If you have levels in more than one meldshaping class you must decide at each level which to add at each appropriate level. Spellcasting: At each level except 3rd, 6th and 9th a exalted soul increases in divine caster level, spells known, and spells per day as if you gained a level in a spellcasting class that you belonged to before you gained the exalted soul level. You do not gain any other abilities of that class such as an improved ability to turn undead. If you have levels in more than one spellcasting class you must decide at each level which to add at each appropriate level. Protective Aura (Su): At 1st level a exalted soul can invest essentia into their body as if it was a soulmeld. For each invested point of essentia you gain a +1 sacred bonus to armor class. In addition while you have at least 1 point of essentia invested in this ability you radiate light as a torch. Sacred Power (Su): At first level and higher and weapon you wield counts as good aligned for overcoming damage reduction and deals extra damage (see table) to beings with an evil alignment. This effect does not stack with the holy property. Circle of protection From Evil (Su): At 2nd level and high a exalted soul is constantly under the effects of a Circle of Protection From Evil spell. Wings (Su): At 3rd level you gain the ability to invest essentia in this class feature as if it was a soulmeld. If you do you sprout white feathery wings. The wings are supernatural effects, growing through clothing and armor without damaging them. You may use your wings fully in light, medium, or heavy armor, and when carrying a light or medium (not heavy) load. This ability counts as a flying speed for qualifying for feats and prestige classes. At 3rd level these wings grant you a glide speed of 20 feet per invested point of essentia with poor maneuverability. Gliding is like flying except that you must descend 10 feet for every 20 feet you travel and cannot hover no matter your maneuverability. At 6th you gain a flying speed equal to 20 feet per invested point of essentia at average maneuverability. At 9th level our fly speed increase to 30 feet per invested point of essentia with good maneuverability. Charka Binds: At 4th level you gain the ability to bind soulmelds to your crown, feet, and hands chakras in addition to any other you might have. At 8th level you may also bind soulmelds to your arms, brow, and shoulders chakras in addition to any others you might possess. Exalted Smite (Su): An exalted soul of 10th level and higher has learned to produce a blazing aura composed of soul energy and divine power. As a standard action you may invest essentia into this class feature as if it was a soulmeld and expend a turn undead attempt. If you do any evil creature with a 30 foot spread of you takes 2d6 points of damage + 2d6 points of damage per invested point of essentia and is stunned for 1 round. Evil outsiders and undead take twice this amount of damage instead. The spent essentia is returned to your essentia pool at the end of the round. Any creature affected may make a Will save with a DC equal to your class level + the essentia you invested in this ability + your Cha modifier to half the damage and negate the stunning effect. | queenfange05-27-07, 07:19 AM | I don't know about soulmelds, so you may have this covered, but it appears that your class is accessible to PCs with only three base class levels, and prestige classes should require the PCs to already have at least five base class levels. Anyway, I don't know much about incarnum, so I can't say much else, but it looks cool! |
| calronmoonflower05-27-07, 03:01 PM | You need three in a divine spellcasting class and two in a meldshaping class. Otherwise you cannot qualify. The prerequisites are almost identical to the Sapphire Hierarch, except you must be good instead of lawful and you do not need domain access. |
| rampant05-28-07, 02:28 AM | Ok, Two big things, the wings ability could definetly be improved, and the final ability seems a tad underwhelming. I'd suggest you work in some way to invest essentia in the wings for some sort of speed or maneuverability increase. The final ability takes a standard action, and can deal about 6d6 damage at level twenty. I realize the stun is valueable but it still seams a tad weak. Also the formula for the DC of the save seems off. |

I'd suggest you work in some way to invest essentia in the wings for some sort of speed or maneuverability increase. twice your base land speed in heavy armor at good manuverblity seems good to me, but if you type out how your ideal will work, I'll think about it. The final ability takes a standard action, and can deal about 6d6 damage at level twenty. I realize the stun is valueable but it still seams a tad weak. Also the formula for the DC of the save seems off.[/QUOTE] The DC is a bit odd, but it is calculated based of other incarum DCs except that it uses Charmsa instead of constution. Also it allows for progression under the epic rules. 12d6 vs undead and evil outsiders. I've thought about making this into a ray that can be repeatedly used without a turning atemp. I think I'll double the extra damage per point of essentia. |
| rampant05-28-07, 03:56 AM | Well Wings (Su): At 3rd level you gain the ability to sprout white feathery and dismiss wings as a free action. The wings are supernatural effects, growing through clothing and armor without damaging them. You may use your wings fully in light, medium, or heavy armor, and when carrying a light, medium, or heavy load. This ability counts as a flying speed for qualifying for feats and prestige classes. Your fly speed is 20ft + 20 ft per essentia invested in your protective aura ability. Your maneuverability is poor at third level, average at 6th level, and good at 9th level. |
| calronmoonflower05-28-07, 04:25 PM | rampant: Thanks for the help. I changed the wings class feature to a version that require essentia to be invested in it to work. |
| alchemyprime05-28-07, 07:32 PM | Say, would you consider allowing me to put this in the Incarnum Guide calronmoonflower? It seems like it would fit very well with the other PrCs. |

| rampant05-29-07, 01:47 AM | One last nitpick. I've been going over the meld DCs in the MoI, and I think the DC on exalted smite needs to be 10 + 1/2 class level + essentia invested + cha modifier. |

Prestige classes use you total class level until you gain epic levels. This class replaces the base 10 with your class level, but otherwise follow the same patterns as soulmelds. |
| rampant05-29-07, 11:12 AM | Actually thats the problem i'm seeing, THe DC of exalted smite is going to be lower than the DC of the normal melds, because they get 10 + half meldshaper level + essentia + relevant ability score. You might want to base exalted smite of total meldshaper level or even total character level. |

| calronmoonflower05-31-07, 02:07 AM | +1/2 meldshaper level I've checked the incarnate, soulborn, and totemist. None of them have a increase in meldshaper DC for an increased meldshaper level. from the incarnate The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against an incarnate soulmeld is 10 + number of points of essentia invested in the soulmeld + your Wisdom modifier. Your meldshaper level is equal to your incarnate level |
| rampant05-31-07, 02:28 AM | Sorry about that, got mixed up there. Sorry. |
| LordArchaon06-04-07, 10:13 AM | Seems good! I think I would just put Exalted Smite some levels before, making it 2d6 per essentia only, without the initial 2d6. If you then want to empower it, make for a 10th level ability that changes the capacity of Exalted Smite (and maybe of the Wings also) to maximum capacity+Charisma modifier, like the Incandescent Champion does with Incarnum Overload. |

I've thought on this. Max cap on essentia is 4 and a Cha modifier of 4 isn't unrealistic. That would mean 16d6 points of damage per use. |

| rampant06-05-07, 05:27 PM | I like the current incarnation of the ability, though unless you sink a couple feats into extra turning you only get maybe 8 something uses |
