They seem to have a certain power to survive when they should be long gone" - Kazzendar, Loremaster Hit Dice: d6 Overview The Fate's Favored is no warrior of epic battles, but rather a common person, granted the favor of the gods. He survives on luck and charm, evading the grasp of death even in the most dangerous situations. Weapon and Armor Proficiency Fate's Favored are proficient with all simple weapons, plus the hand crossbow, rapier, short sword, and whip. Fate's Favored are proficient with light armor, but not with shields. Luck Beginning at 1st level, the Fate's Favored can use the Luck ability. Using the Luck ability allows the Fate's Favored to re-roll one dice as a free action. This dice can be one used for a skill check, attack, or saving throw. If Luck is used to re-roll a Charisma based skill check, the Fate's Favored may add a +4 bonus to the re-roll. Fleeing Poorness Beginning at 4th level, the Fate's Favored is effected by Fleeing Poorness.. Fleeing Poorness causes the Fate's Favored to recieve an amount of gold equal to 2 x class levels + Charisma modifier per day. This gold is recieved through luck, be it found on the ground or dropped from the sky. The DM may choose whether or not to describe the way in which Fleeing Poorness effects the Fate's Favored. Favor Beyond Luck Beginning at 7th level, the Favor Beyond Luck ability replaces the Luck ability. Using the Favor Beyond Luck ability allows the Fate's Favored to re-roll one dice. This dice can be one used for a skill check, attack, or saving throw. The Fate's Favored may add a +4 bonus to the re-roll. If Luck is used to re-roll a Charisma based skill check, the Fate's Favored may add an additional +4 bonus to the re-roll. Fate's Hand Beginning at 8th level, the Fate's Favored may use the Fate's Hand ability twice a day. Only if an opponent would reduce the Fate's Favored to below -1hp with an attack, may the Fate's Favored use the Fate's Hand ability. Fate's Hand forces the opponent to re-roll his attack roll with a -5 penalty. Notes First off, I'd like to thank people for all the advice I recieved regarding my first PrC, I really appreciate it. This is still only my second Prestige Class, so it may be totally over(or under)powered. I'd like any advice people have on describing abilities. PEACH! |
| Karzach04-02-07, 04:58 PM | What does the Agile ability do? You didn't post a description for it. Conceptually, I'd make a luck favored class like this a 5 level PrC (not necessarily with all the features you've given it). Granted, you can force rerolls often enough per day to be formidable...but you give up BAB, HP, Fort and Will saves (well, potential Fort and Will) for that ability...in significant enough amounts you may end up needing to use your luck abilities just to make up for what you lost. This does make a semi-ok rogue PrC, since it has good skill points and a wide variety class skills. Maybe it works out...but as soon as a fight breaks out, you'll be sprinting for the nearest hiding spot. |
| Kardanok04-02-07, 05:23 PM | Agile is a feat ;) Thanks for the suggestions though, I'll try to fit in something related to combat that still keeps to the main theme. |
| Karzach04-02-07, 05:25 PM | Ahh ok. Usually for bonus feats you'll put in a little blurb like "Class_X gains Y as a bonus feat at level Z" or some such. |
| Zodiaq704-03-07, 11:51 AM | Okay, we have a slightly different version of Fortune's Freind(Complete Scoundrel) that never runs out of cash, which denies a great roleplaying aspect of the class. Well, if it works for you, I'm not going to complain. |
| Kardanok04-03-07, 12:51 PM | He might not run out of cash, but that amount of GP certainly isn't going to be getting him any uber magical weapons or the like. And sorry if this is similar to another PrC, I don't own Complete Scoundrel so I didn't know. |
