05-01-07, 08:33 PM Does anybody else besides me like the Fatespinner from the complete arcane. I almost NEVER hear anyone talk about that PRC...

05-01-07, 09:03 PM I like it, and it's pretty easy to get into. It's just that there are other prcs to spend levels on.

I've used the four levels for some npcs... I like the fifth level ability, but not at the loss of a caster level.

Ya... i'm a wiz 8 fatespinner 4.... don't think i'm gonna take that last level.... I think i'm going back to wizard unless i can find SOMETHING else that has full caster levels and looks ok.

05-03-07, 01:37 AM I've always been a fan of the Fatespinner. I've been trying to think of a good back story for a Sorcerer/Fatespinner/Nightmare Spinner. I'm toying with making them a Hellbred.

Although it's not terribly optimized, I like combining elements of wizard + 'arcane' oracle + fatespinner... with maybe a little wildmage for the redirect spell...

Thematically, it's a wizard with a danger sense... He knows what is coming, and if he didn't know, you couldn't tell it by the way he reacts to the danger anyway...

05-04-07, 06:46 PM I had a gnome wizard (i know, no specialty...tisk) who was designing towards fatespinner and archmage to make a combat disturber...the campaign didn't go very far but he already had improved counterspell and was taking advantage of alchemical items to make up for his low spellcasting ability (only got up to 5th level).

I envisioned him depantsing fellow spellcasters, hampering brute opponents and forcing them to re-roll anytime they did anything nasty. Too bad it never took off.

05-10-07, 11:04 PM I'm currently playing a V3.0 game as a bard and planning on going Fatespinner. Does anyone else know of a class or feat that allows you to reroll (version 3 or 3.5)? I read that Cleric can reroll once a day if they take the Luck spell path...

(some spellcaster) 5/Mind Bender10/ Fatespinner5

I will try to make you my thrall (permenant dominate), add 5 to my DC, make you take a -10 penalty on your save, and if you happen to make the save anyway......reroll it!

05-11-07, 12:00 PM Fatespinner is often included in wizard builds on the CO board. It isn't really unpopular at all there. It just isn't as insane or flashy as some of the other wizard PrCs, like Incantatrix or Initiate of the 7-fold Veil.

05-11-07, 02:36 PM I think it's one of the best PrCs, mainly it's so easy to get into and doesn't cost you much of anything (assuming you skip the last level).

You've just got to make sure you get ten levels in another PrC for Epic level.

08-27-07, 02:06 PM As a Sun Elf Wizard 7/Fatespinner 5 With Spell Focus and Greater Spell Focus in Enchantments, it became quite easy to see why I chose to take the 5th level in Fatespinner...

Spin Fate +5 DC to my Dominate Person, +2 DC for Enchantment focus = DC 30 Dominate person (18 roll, +2 int for race, +3 int ability points, +2 int headband, Spellcasting Prodigy). This is more than enough to overcome most fighters/Barbarians anything that can be called a tank. You want to dominate that pesky cleric? Seal his fate first, suddenly his +20 will save is now a +10 will save, I hope he rolls a natural 20... What, he rolled Natural 20? Make him Roll again with Fickle Finger of Fate! Now you have a high level Battlefield medic at your disposal, the possibilities are almost limitless...
