| DareDevil303-06-07, 01:51 PM | Currently playing a 7th level battle sorcerer/ 4th level Abjurant Champion. I am looking to continue this build of good BAB and spell progression. The only other PrC i have found that fits this build is the Eldritch Knight. My question is this, does anyone else know of other PrC's that fit this build. I have the basic WoTC books so i was wondering if something else is out there that i dont know about Sorry if this is a redundant post but my first time here and it is hard to keep up with alot of the post. |

I mean you could put in a few more classes whose 1st level gives you a caster level (dragonslayer, Spellsword, etc), but essentially the Eldritch Knight is probably your best bet. What setting are you playing it btw? There's a Knight Phantom that is a bit like EK somewhere in the WotC articles, but afaik it's only for Eberron. |

I figured that EK might be my only choice, but my next question would be this Is it a fair trade to swap a feat for +1 spell progression? As in the first level of EK? I rather have the spell progression than the feat |

| StevenO03-06-07, 03:10 PM | For a caster, that +1 spell progression is worth far more than any feat. Considering that the effect of some feats is usable once per day increasing your casting progression should give you something at least that equivalent or better. From a BattleSorcerer7/AbjurantChamp4 I would take level 8 in BS. I imagine you don't want to lose too many spell casting increases or BAB increases. Spellsword (CW) has your full BAB and spellcasting increases at odd levels as does the Dragonslayer (Draconomicon) so both are good for one level at least. If you qualified for both you could get to BS 8/ AC5/ SS1/ DS1 and have a BAB +13 and spellcasting at 15th level. After that you have 5 levels where you can focus more on what you desire more. |

I rather have the spell progression than the feat well, since EK requires you to be proficient in ALL martial weapons, I'd say your best bet is to take a level of Fighter, then go into EK (just think of it as a two-level dip). While you're at it, pick up that feat from CArc that lets you cast in armor one level heavier. It's very useful for a build like this. |
