protosswarrior 04-23-08, 09:47 PM	Recently, our DM gave our rouge access to a prestige class called the "Gnomish Tinkerer". According to the DM, its from Dragonlance and is "like an artificer on crack". Anyone have any more info?

Zodiaq7 04-26-08, 05:19 PM	The class, which can be found in Races of Ansalon, let's you build wild contraptions. They can have attack or utility options. The more you tack on to the thing, including functions, size, etc. add to the difficulty to build it. You can also add functions that act like feats. As far as it being superior to the Artificer, not so much as you won't be creating magic items per se, but scientific counterparts. Yeah, you won't need to worry about dispel magic, but the unreliable nature of your contraptions might be more of a bane than a boon.
