05-25-07, 03:59 PM I'm thinking on taking levels on Green Star adept, but I'm kinda worried of losing my constitution score and having so little hp. Is there a spell like heal but for constructs? I know the repair damage spell could be useful, but they wouldn't heal as much damage. Also, do you know of any variant/template/etc. that would help in this situation?

05-25-07, 04:57 PM Just stop at level 8, that is where you gain the max benefits and the min losses.

05-25-07, 05:09 PM I guess I'm one of the few that would actually take GSA to level 10. I dont want a CON score so i can get the immunities, which to me is the whole point of the PrC.

Just look at it this way, you get +20 hp due to being a medium size construct; that's equivelant to have a CON score of 12 - 13 at level 20. So you only lose HP's if your CON is 14 or greater.

And I would rather be able to heal myself with a repair damage spell than rely on a cleric to heal me. And you get a rapid repair ability.

That way the +20 you get is a boon.

I have allways wanted to play a Warforged "Green Star Adept".
I see it as an interesting alternative to the Juggernaut Prestige Class.
The Adpet can be ressurected :D , the Juggernaut can not. :weep:

That isn't quite a new point of concern for a wizard. They spend their whole adventuring careers worrying about not having enough hp.

Yeah, but I can't recall seeing a wizard with a con lower than 14 myself.
The one exception was a joke I had about a venerable elf wizard with a con score of 1 preparing to enter the necropolitan template...:P

Yea most wizards do have high CON to compensate. And for me the hesitation to go GSA is the half caster progression; So i like to finish at epic levels as well.

But look at what you can do in melee now:
by GSA 10 Str of 26+ (starting with 14, +6 over 10 levels, +6 with belt)
slam attack of 1d6, imp. nat attack to 1d8, perm enlarge spell to 2d6
DR 10/adamantine (and use iron guard to further protect)
tenser's transformation to gain addition str (2-8) and dex (2-8), +1/2 LVL BAB, + 1d6/LVL HP.

Add a amulet of natural attack or greater fang and you do a fair amout of damange in combat.

05-27-07, 06:11 PM I'd just attempt to get a con boosting item untill your con score goes -. A +4 amulet would be fine. Once you can no longer use it, I'm sure another party member would take it off your hands. In a low magic setting, this wouldnt be as viable.

Now I LIKE the idea of a construct-like PrC... just not this one...

Its not that bad of a drawback. The whole fall unconcious thing is nice, because generally your dm will have the opponents attack other enemies. How does an oponent know when its dropped an enemy? Just fall down on the ground once you hit 5 hp and pretend to be out.

at least you can still be raised. As long as you have friends alive and around you will be ok. No different than if you were at -1 and all your allies are dead/gone.

besides it's only a 10 hp difference: 0 hp GSA = -10 hp other pc.

Interestingly enough...I've played that before. I had a Human Necromancer/Cleric shooting for True Necromancer and the Necropolitan template. His dump stat was Con, and it made for interesting times. Then, once he did get the template, it felt really good to lose the negative modifier and get all those d12's. He was quite fun to play. Had ranks in every Knowledge skill, and an Item Familiar, his spellbook. All his good rolls went into mental stats. He was probably about as physically fit as I am in real life (not very, for the record). I liked him.
