I was wondering if anyone knew of a good prestige class that has the same feel as the "Spinning Halberd" weapon style feat from Complete Warrior. If you have played "Legend of Dragoon", think Lavitz or Albert. The problem is that I cannot find a prestige class that allows you to use a two-handed weapon, wear a decent amount of armor, use some dexterity, and the prestige class still be useful for the most part.

My DM wants to have as core a game as possible, with the exception of a few feats and the prestige classes, so I was going for an elven fighter in mithral full plate (+3 dex bonus).

Please comment back on anything, but I would really like a prestige class idea.

The old Weaponmaster PrC doesn't sound like too bad an option.
You can always check with your DM if you can make up your own PrC. Tempest Stormwind has a pretty solid "Dragoon" style lancer, but it draws rather on a lot non-core stuff.
The basic set-up goes like this: Power Attack, Leap Attack, Shocktrooper, Battlejump. Try becoming large, or at least wield a Dwarven Haldberd (RoS, Non-core, though) for that extra reach.
If you'd want your own PrC, I'd be happy to help you write something up.

I once played a fighter that started as a halberd user and picked Combat Expertise and Improved Trip because it fitted his former townsguard theme, maybe that would be an option for you too ?

In a fight, making a succesfull trip attack looks like a weapon combo already because of the follow up attack ;)

Maybe you donīt even need a PrC, because Power Attack, Cleave and Greater Cleave already make a quite nice combo.

Using a buckler with buckler feats (Improved Buckler Defense I think is the name) that let you use extra AC from the buckler without drawbacks.

Hope I could help :)

You could look at Champion of Corellen in Races of the Wild. I don't know how it will work with the halberd but it does lower movement penalties of heavier armor.

Improved Buckler Defense only applies to TWF, not Twohanded Fighting, IIRC. Ofcourse, with Spinning Halberd, you'd get the best of both.

Hmm, Shou Disciple might be an interesting option. Flurry, extra feats, using the halberd as a monk weapon of sorts... For 5 levels, it could be worse - if you can afford a lightly-armored PrC, that is. As for using shields... Animated shield, or a shield spell (possibly a psionic tattoo), perhaps?

Where can we find the Shou Disciple class?
