Howdy all, first post here.

I was wondering if I could have some advice.

My plan is for a Prestige class that is more like a membership than anything else, but conferring strong benefits while being very hard to obtain. The thing is though, I wanted to somehow make it open to all classes and races, but still allow those races and classes to continue with their normal progression with some added Prestige Class bonuses.

My basic idea is hardly orginal I guess. Basically it is an Order of good aligned folks who plane shift to areas to prevent demonic or devlish incursions. But how to make such a Prestige Class work so that Rogues and Fighters and Wizards at the same time can benefit?

If anyone had any ideas or needs clarifying, please let me know.

How about using it to provide a broad spectrum of abilities over just a few levels?

Entry qualifications can be set as you want them; so they could revolve around completing a quest, having an alignment or feat combination etc.

Alternatively, create an interlinked set of PrCs for each role - one for fighting classes, one for skills classes, one for divine casters and one for arcane casters. All have the same base set of abilities, but with a class specific add-on like increasing casting level, BAB, Sneak attack, etc.

So could you basically have it say "character advances as previous class with the following exceptions: ..."
That could certainly help.

Thanks for the answer. :)
