Hero of Legend http://img151.imageshack.us/img151/6950/linkzeldagccopiecopymm9.jpg (http://imageshack.us) A Hero of Legend is the pure hearted warrior, using wit and cunning as well as melee prowess to defeat his enemies. A Hero of Legend is dedicated first and foremost to saving those he cares for, and often goes out on life and limb to save those who he meets. A Hero of Legend tries to obey laws, but will bend or even break them if he must. Hero of Legends almost seem to have a disability when it comes to doing favors for strangers, not only in rescuing one’s daughter from a dragon, but also in errands and occasionally chores. Good hearted fighters, rangers, ex-barbarians, and ex-Paladins often take the Hero of Legend class, their combat skill adding greatly to the new abilities of the class. Members of other classes rarely take this prestige. Monks are restricted from taking this class, even if they are ex-monks. Requirements: Base Attack Bonus: +10 Skills: Climb(Str) 6, Handle Animal(Cha) 6, Jump(Str) 6, Move Silently(Dex) 6, Ride(Dex) 6, Swim(Str) 6, Tumble(Dex) 4. Legendary Courage: At 1st level Hero of Legend is immune to all fear effects, magical or otherwise. Back Slice: At level 2, a Hero of Legend may perform the Back Slice attack. By making a Tumble check of DC: 14, the Hero may tumble around an enemy and attack him from behind, catching the target off guard. The target loses their dexterity to Ac bonus, as well as any bonus they might get from a shield, since the target cannot defend that area. The Hero of Legend gains a +2 bonus to hit when performing this move. Should the Hero fail his check, he provokes an attack of opportunity from his target, and takes double damage. Back Slice is a full action. Hero’s Endurance: At level 4, a Hero of Legend does not lose conscience when dropped to -1 hit points and below. He still dies at -10 hit points however. Helm Splitter: At 5th level, a Hero of Legend may use Helm Splitter, this risky move involves a full round action. The Hero of Legend makes an attack (+2 Bonus if a shield is used) upon the intended target, breaking their concentration with a strong, but non-lethal attack (the attack is made so that it breaks their focus, rather than dealing damage, often using the blunt end of a weapon), then the Hero of Legend makes a Jump Check of DC: 18, a successful roll means that the attack has connected to the head, dealing a lethal blow. The Target must make a Fortitude save of DC: 20 + 1 per level of Hero of Legend. Failure means that the target is instantly slain. This attack does not work on undead, oozes, and any other creature that doesn’t need a head to survive. In the case of multiple heads, the head struck is slain. If the Hero of Legend fails his check, he provokes an attack of opportunity from his attacker, who deals double damage to the Hero. Helm Splitter is a full action. Mortal Draw: At 6th level, a Hero of Legend may perform this risky move that involves dropping one’s guard. By doing so, the Hero of Legend loses any shield bonus, as well as any dex to Ac, because they have dropped their guard. When an attacker enters within the Hero of Legend’s attack radius, the Hero and the attacker both make an opposed Reflex check. If the Hero of Legend wins, he deals a swift, but lethal blow to his attacker, dealing double damage from his attack as he quickly unsheathes his weapon. If the Hero loses, he misses and his attacker hits him. The Hero of Legend gets a +4 bonus to his reflex check since he is preparing for the action while the attacker is not. Mortal Draw is a ful action. Jump Strike: At 8th level, a Hero of Legend may perform this powerful move, used to take out multiple of enemies at once. First the Hero of Legend makes a Tumble check of DC: 20, which sends him up five feet in the air, and then come down with a downward strike, sending a shockwave out of the ground up to five feet, dealing 4d6 points of damage. A failure on a Tumble check means that not only has the move failed, but provokes an attack of opportunity from all attackers within five feet. A Hero Lives On: Upon reaching 9th level, when struck by an attack that would normally reduce a Hero of Legend to 0 hit points, the Hero of Legend makes a fortitude saving throw DC: 10+the attacker’s level. Upon a successful check, the Hero of Legend takes half damage instead. Great Spin: At 10th level, a Hero of Legend may perform this powerful attack, which is perhaps the most feared move of the Hero of Legend. When the Hero of Legend has full hit points, he may charge his sword while either charging or while standing in single spot. Upon unleashing the attack, the Hero of Legend performs a whirlwind attack, dealing an extra 2d6 points of holy damage. This is a standard action while stationary and during a charge attack, the Hero of Legend takes a -2 penalty on his Ac. A Hero of Legend cannot use this move if he does not have full hit points. |
