Having the Weapon Specialization feat (prerequisite) means that all proficiencies are already there. ==Table== LEVEL BASE ATTACK FORT REF/WILL SPECIAL ======================================== ======== 1 +1 +2 +0 Superior Charge, Shield Crusher, Handle of The Earth 2 +2 +3 +0 Bonus Feat, Polearm Vault, Stilt Climbing 3 +3 +3 +1 Draw In, Skewering Thrust, Springing Lunge 4 +4 +4 +1 Palm of the Lance, The Second End, Quick Set 5 +5 +4 +1 Bonus Feat, Rain of Heaven, Great Skewering Bonus Feat: Choose from the Weapon Focus tree (any Lancer Weapons, or Javelins). Must still meet prerequisites for the feat, but Lancer levels count as (and stack with) fighter levels for the sake of determining which feats in the Weapon Focus tree are available. Quick Set: The Lancer can set any special Lancer Weapon to recieve a charge as a swift action. Draw In: Can change grip as a move action, turning a reach weapon into a non-reach weapon, but attacks at the awkward angle are at -4 with non-Lancer weapons. The Second End: The Lancer can use a Lancer weapon as a double weapon. The secondary off-hand attack is the same as that of a quarterstaff; 1d6 blunt. If using a longspear or ranseur, it ceases to be a reach weapon while The Second End is employed. The Second End can be switched as a free action once per round on the Lancer's turn. This maneuver requires two hands. Palm of the Lance: The Lancer can wield any Lancer Weapon 1-handed, including the longspear and ranseur, though they no longer become reach weapons. Springing Lunge: During an attack action or full attack action, the Lancer can make a single strike that round (with a Lancer weapon) at 5 foot greater reach than normal. Superior Charge: This works with Lancer weapons only; x2 damage on unmounted charge, and treat all lancer weapons as a lance if mounted (triple damage). Rain of Heaven: The Lancer can perform a lethal strike from on high. Any time the Lancer falls down into a target's space while wielding a Lancer weapon, it is treated like a mounted charge (triple damage, +2 to hit, +2 to AC for the remainder of the round). Furthermore, anyone struck by the Rain of Heaven must make a fortitude save DC 10 plus damage dealt, or fall prone and become stunned for 1 full round. The Lancer ends up in the adjacent square of his choice. If there are no valid adjacent squares for the Lancer to occupy after the Rain of Heaven, he ends up prone with the target in the same square. Shield Crusher: Can attack shields or other similar objects (such as a door, a screen or a thin wall) with Lancer weapons as with Improved Sunder. That is to say, that in any contested attack roll, the Lancer gets a +4 and draws no attack of opportunity. If the hardness is overcome and 1" of damage is done, the Lancer penetrates the shield and can make a free attack at the wielder at the same bonus. If the shield is penetrated, but not destroyed by the Lancer's weapon, the shield owner gets a free disarm attempt against the Lancer. Shield-like effects which have no listed hardness or hitpoints can only be affected by this maneuver if the attack from the Lancer weapon somehow defeated the effect. For example, if a Lancer had a Shortspear of Spell Storing with Dispel Magic stored within it, and activated the spell while striking the effect of a Shield spell, he could use the free attack from the Shield Crusher maneuver if the Shield were dispelled. Skewering Thrust: If a Lancer's attack with a Lancer weapon causes his target to be defeated (or destroyed, in the case of objects or some illusions), the Lancer automatically moves 5 feet into the target's space. If another valid target for attack is in the next square, as if the Lancer's attack were to continue in a straight line along the path of the 5' step, then the Lancer can make another free attack at the same bonus on that target. This can only be done in one round, and the 5' step takes away from the total movement for the round, or counts as the 5' step that can be made each round. Great Skewering: The Lancer can perform the Skewering Thrust as long as targets keep getting defeated, and still has movement left for that round. Thus a Lancer with this ability and a movement of 30 feet can perform up to 6 consecutive Skewering Thrusts per round via 6 five foot steps in a straight line. All the iterative Skewering Thrusts must be done along the same straight line. Pole Vault: The Lancer can use a Lancer weapon to boost jumps by a competence bonus of +1 per Lancer level. This is a full round action that draws an attack of opportunity. Stilt Climbing: The Lancer can use a Lance weapon to assist in climb checks, providing a +5 competence bonus to climb, and can optionally replace a climb check with a balance check for the first climb check upward from stable ground. Handle of the Earth: At any time the Lancer is moved against their will, such as a bull rush or falling or being swept downstream, they can use a Lancer weapon to resist that movement. They still get moved 5 feet, but then they can make an attack roll against a solid surface in reach against AC 10, and if enough damage is dealt to the surface to penetrate its hardness, the Lancer can make an additional free check at +4 to resist moving farther than 5 feet. The check depends on the type of movement. For example, if a Lancer gets bull rushed, they can use Handle of the Earth to make an additional strength check at +4 to resist being bull rushed farther than 5 feet. This can also be used for climb checks to prevent falling, or swim checks to prevent being swept away. This is a swift action that draws no attack of opportunity. |

| captianhowdy09-07-07, 07:30 PM | I like this class. It looks fairly balanced and I like the weapon specialization. I really like that its not a Dragoon clone lancer type. Good job on the PrC :) |
