| seventh_scroll01-29-08, 02:58 PM | Currently CN Half-Orc Ranger 4/Barbarian 2. I'd like something that improves my Rage and my Ranger spells. If nothing like that exists, is there a Ranger/Barb feat like Swift Hunter or Ascetic Stalker that allows Favored Enemy and Rage progression? |
| DonThelonious01-29-08, 03:06 PM | What books are you allowed? Can you use homebrewed stuff from the boards? |
| seventh_scroll01-29-08, 03:47 PM | My DM allows all books, as long as I run the specific feat/spell/prc by him first. I just need suggestions for now. Homebrewed should be fine, but it'll depend on the balance, and how much other material it requires. Does a feat exist that allows Rage and Favored Enemy progression? |
| StevenO01-29-08, 06:35 PM | When you want to continue the "Rage Progression" are you just looking at number of times per day or getting the bigger versions of rage? If you are just looking to increase the number of times you can Rage I believe the feat Extra Rage is in the Complete Warrior. The Complete Champion may have a feat that allows an additional bonus when Raging against a Favored Enemy which is probably the closest you should get for a "dual progression" of each. |
| Divisionbyzer001-29-08, 11:06 PM | I don't think you will find something that improves both divine spells and raging. If you happen upon something let me know cause I'm also running a CN half-orc ranger / barbarian at the moment as well. I'd take a dip into horizon walker just for early tireless rage :D |
| seventh_scroll01-30-08, 12:36 PM | Hmm. I guess I might have improvise. There's really no Ascetic Stalker style feat that blends Barbarian and Ranger features? Quick and easy to fix. I think I could do fine with Ranger 11/ Barb 9 as long as I have a feat that stacks levels for Rage and Favored Enemy. :) My char is known as "Krek of the North Woods", and he's famous for singlehandedly toppling a bugbear chief and his fiendish boar. He wields two wickedly curving scimitars known as "Biter and Gnasher" (one MW, one +1). He just recently got a wolf for an animal companion, whom he refers affectionately to as "Twickle", and likes to prepare Magic fang as his Ranger spell to give him an edge. He's not the brightest or most sophisticated guy in the group, but his skill in combat and survival instinct have earned him respect from even the elves in the party. |

Well, you could decide to update the Wildrunner from Races of the Wild for half-orcs... but other than that I'm drawing a blank myself. Ranger feats like endurance help as prerequisites though, for example for the UEast Runescarred Berserker (heck of a PrC, that) or the Frostburn Primeval (think Bear Warrior+). Both can be quite good in your case - the first works best with decent wisdom and the second is best if you can stomach a mild intelligence/charisma decrease. |

It'd be fun to meet you as an NPC in my game and challenge you to combat. Okk has better magical weapons than you (+1 flaming battle ax, +1 frost handaxe) but have yet to find a companion, so it could probably got either way. |
| DonThelonious02-01-08, 04:58 PM | If your still looking for a PrC, and can use home brewed, might I suggest checking out the Races Of The Horde: PrC (http://forums.gleemax.com/showthread.php?t=925867) thread. Its kind of a shameless plug, since I post a lot of my stuff there, but there are quite a few good balanced orcish PrCs. |

It would help if you actually said which one he should look at. |
| DonThelonious02-02-08, 12:48 AM | Any of them, I am not sure which one specifically. I am pretty sure there is at least one of them for barbanger. |
| seventh_scroll02-02-08, 11:45 AM | I took a look at the link, and was fairly impressed. There seemed to be some very inspired PrCs, but not many that fit my character. The Scarred Veteran might work somewhere down the road, but for now I think I'll see how the campaign progresses. :) I might even build a PrC or two to add to your thread. Thanks for your input, and your amazing contributions to the Orc-playing community. DonThelonious, may Gruumsh's gaze meet your enemies, and never your friends. |

| LunarWolfPrime02-05-08, 03:43 PM | here is a home brew that I cooked up that might help Savage Hunter Pre-req favored enemy and rage class features Benfits: you ranger and barbarian lvl's stack for perpous of rage progresion, inaddition if a favoded enemy is with in 30ft of you while you are in raged you get your favored enemy bonus added to you str and con scores on top of the stat increase added during rage. I was going to use this on a ranger barbarian Talenta Halfling. |
