The Soulfused Devotee:
The soulfused devotees are a relatively new, though rapidly growing, phenomenon. They were formed by a brilliant, revolutionary young soulcrafter, who’s name and actual identity are lost to history. This soulcrafter claimed to invent a new soulbond, a heart soulbond that allowed ‘him’ to contact a burgeoning sentience of vast, unimaginable power. This entity, a proto-god of sorts, was believed by the soulcrafter to be the very heart itself of all Incarnum...he was being witness to the birth of the God of Incanum (also known as the Font)...but the birth was a troubled one. The Incarnum was simply too vast, too dynamic to allow itself to reach awareness. That is when the progenitor, now known simply as “One”, had an epiphany. The Divine Font needed a framework, a web of devotion and belief to channel its infinite power and majesty.

The Incarnum had chosen him to lead this crusade, a crusade to form the very framework of Destiny. The second epiphany showed the way; only the bodies of constructs would prove suitable for this epic purpose. The Vessels of the Font would have to give up their humanity forever. “One” considered this an inconsequential loss.

Each soulfused devotee seeks to become a single link in a network of devotees, each housing a fragment of the manifestation of the Font. Only the soulfused bodies of the soulcrafters are suitable to house and channel the Divine Incarnum. At the end of each devotee’s journey is the promise of full integration, and a place amongst the “Vessels”; those who give themselves over permanently to house the Font. Each Vessel ritualistically gives up his or her name, and takes the next number in succession (“One”, “Two”, etc.) as their only designation. There are currently 21 Vessels.

Their beliefs have sparked interest in those incarnates with a Lawful bend, as well as an alliance with the Sapphire Hierarchy.

Requirements:
Alignment: This class takes the soulcrafter predisposition to law and make it a requirement. All devotees are of the strictest Lawful alignment, and the majority of them are Lawful Neutral. A small number retain their Good or Evil inclinations.
Special: All prospective soulfused devotees must have their own chakra harnesses and eidolons, sufficiently advanced to provide at least a +5 armor bonus to Armor Class.

Hit Die: 1d6
Class Skills:
The soulfused devotee’s class skills are Appraise (Int), Concentration (Con), Craft (Int), Disable Device (Int), Knowledge (arcane, architecture & engineering, religion, planes) (Int), Open Lock (Dex), Search (Int), Spellcraft (Int), Use Magic Device (Cha) and Use Rope (Dex).
Skill Points at Each Level: 6 + INT (X4 at 1st level)

Class Features: Where applicable, caster level equals the soulfused devotee's meldshaper level, and DC's are calculated using the Intelligence attribute.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Soulfused devotees gain no additional weapon or shield proficiencies. At 2nd level, they gain proficiency with heavy armor.

Meldshaping: At each level except 3rd, 6th, and 9th, the soulfused devotee gains a level in meldshaper ability as if he had gained another level of soulcrafter, including increases in essentia, known and allowed soulbonds, and accessible chakra points. He gains no other benefit of the soulcrafter class.

Chakra Harness/Eidolon: Levels of soulfused devotee stack with soulcrafter to determine the effective level of the character’s chakra harness and eidolon, with the following additions.

Double the ranges of all Chakra Telepathy magnitudes. At 19th effective eidolon level, the soulcrafter can communicate telepathically with any type of intelligent construct, living or not, as well as any incarnum user. He will also be able to tell if a know construct in range is sentient or not, though not to what degree. At 20th level, a soulfused devotee can communicate at will with any other soulfused, in the same manner as a sending spell. This final ability is treated as a spell-like ability, requiring a full round of concentration to perform.

Pre-Integration (Ex): At 1st level, the soulfused devotee starts his first preliminary fusion with his chakra harness. Not nearly as dramatic as the full Soulfusion Amalgam, this state results in the harness sinking thousands of tiny metal threads into the flesh of the devotee. From this point on, even if the devotee wishes it, the harness cannot be removed...at least not without serious repercussion for the devotee.

Removal without powerful magics is dangerous; forcibly removing the armor inflicts an amount of lethal damage equal to 1d8 x the protective value of the armor. In addition, the devotee must make both a Fortitude and a Will save [DC equal to his chakra harness level plus his soulfused devotee level]. Failing the Fortitude check results in a permanent drain of 1 Constitution, failing the Will check results in the unconsciousness for d4 hours. A heal spell or greater will remove the harness without physical trauma, but the Will save will still need to be rolled. While so integrated, the soulfused devotee permanently invest a single essentia. In exchange, the pre-integration grants a number of bonuses.
- The soulfused devotee’s Incarnum Resistance increases to +4.
- All armor check penalties due to the harness are reduced by 1, while all maximum Dexterity limits are increased by 1.
- The range of the devotee’s detect incarnum spell is increased by 50%, and is automatically activated at all times, at no additional essentia investment.
- They may rest in their armor at no penalty.

Craft Incarnum Golem (Ex): At 3rd level, the soulfused devotee gains the knowledge to craft an incarnum golem. This knowledge acts as the feat Craft Construct, though it has no prerequisite, but may only be used to craft incarnum golems. The devotee must still expend gold and experience points, and must still construct the body.

Ordered Mind (Ex): At 5th level, the soulfused devotee learns to structure his thoughts and impulses to dramatic effect. He gains a +1 bonus to any Intelligence-based skill check, as well as a +2 bonus on all skill checks made to resist emotion-affecting spells and effects, as well as all effects with the Chaotic descriptor. This bonus stacks with all existing bonuses. At 10th level, the bonuses increase to +2 and +4, respectively.

Soulfusion Amalgam (Su): At 6th level, once per day, the soulfused devotee can merge physically with his chakra harness. This grants him the soulfused template, a type of living construct. He may hold the form for up to 1 hour. At each additional class level, the duration increases by one additional hour, up to a maximum duration equal to the devotee’s (pre-change) Constitution modifier. He must invest 6 essentia into this transformation, adding an additional essential for each level gained in this class after 6th (see Soulfused Transmutation). This ability works in all other ways like the soulcrafter ability with the following exception:
Chakra Cannon (Su): A soulfused finds that his Incarnum Bolt ability improves. Instead of just adding 1 extra point of damage per point of essentia invested into the bolt, each bonus essentia now adds 1d6 bonus damage. An invested soulfused devotee may invest no more than 7 such bonus essentia into a bolt in this form, but never more than their soulfused devotee level, for a total of 10 essentia and a maximum damage potential of 10d6 at 7th level of devotee. Like the normal version of this ability, he can then choose to add additional essentia after this point for even more damage, but on a one essentia per bonus point of damage rate. All essentia allocated to a bolt are still treated as expended until 5 rounds have passed.

Armor Bond (Su): At 7th level, as the ironsoul forgemaster PrC ability, but this ability can only be used with a chakra harness.

Power Surge (Su): At 9th level, while wearing a chakra harness, as the incarnate Perfect Meldshape ability.

Full Integration (Ex): At 10th level, the transmutation to soulfused becomes permanent. The soulfused devotee becomes a proper vessel for the burgeoning divinity of the Incarnum. The devotee gains all the benefits of the soulfused amalgam ability, but need only invest a single permanent essentia (for a total investment of 2 essentia; see Pre-Integration).

Due to the strange sense of detachment and loss-of-self all such devotees feel at this level, they each gain a -2 penalty to all Charisma-based skill rolls and attribute checks.

The tenuous but constant connection to all other soulfused grants the devotee an ability similar to bardic knowledge. The devotee rolls d20, and adds his Constitution modifier. Each attempt to access this information requires a full round of concentration, and provokes attacks of opportunity.
