01-04-08, 01:32 PM Does anyone find it odd that you have to take VoP in order to take all 10 levels of Initiate of Pistis Sophia by 20th level?

The class requires the Sanctify Ki Strike feat, which the soonest it can be taken without VoP is 12th level, because a monk doesn't get ki strike (lawful) until 10th.

01-04-08, 02:28 PM That's an interesting oversight. The base save prereqs and rank prereqs imply only 6 levels of monk are needed. It should probably be houseruled to not require sanctify ki strike.

In fact, I'd question why it has such a high prereq, when Sanctify Martial Strike is easier to obtain.

Another thing I noticed, is that it doesn't bypass the monk multiclass restriction.

Anything that has "monk abilities" at first level is pretty clearly a monk PrC. Maybe they just assumed that you'd go into another PrC since 6 is a good cutoff for monk anyway?

01-13-08, 07:34 PM If you have Vow of Poverty you get bonus exalted feats. You get a bonus exalted feat at level 10, which you also get Ki Strike Lawful.

You can get Ki Strike at level 10, then take the feat needed, then by level 11 you take your first PrC levels.

Then there's Sanctify Martial Strike, and Sanctify Natural Attack, both of which provide the same benefit as Sanctify Ki Strike without such a steep prerequisite.

The more I look at it the more it seems Sanctify Ki Strike should require ki strike (magic) instead of ki strike (lawful), then everything would fit.
