| Farrell03-10-07, 07:53 AM | I still feel confused about initiate of sevenfold veil: 1. If a foe is using a standard action to try to cast a spell on me, and I recognize this spell by performing a successful SC check, can I use reacting warding to raise a warding to protect myself? For instance, if an enemy is casting Enervation, then I recognize this spell, can I use an immediate action to raise an orange veil to stop his spell? 2. After I raise an warding with indigo veil, can I still cast spells on the foe who is outside the warding? Because indigo veil prevents the passage of all spells and spell-like abilities, I am not sure if my own spells can pass this warding..... Thanks! |

The confusion probably comes from the use of the word attack at the beginning, but this seems to be used in a general sense rather than to indicate an attack action, etc. 2.) Sadly I do not think they do, but remember you can also create walls as wardings, they are often the better option - free dispel, that leaves you able to move and cast at your foe. You can also cast within your warding, buff and even walk over to and get your companions inside the warding, the Cleric, for example! |

Actually wardings are one way affairs... or at least a wall is "An initiate may choose to make crossing though the wall in one direction safe...". So you could cast through your own indigo veil, from one side. |
