I think I may have read somewhere that the Far Shot prerequisite is a mistake originating form 3rd ed??

Can anyone confirm this as I can't see it in the errata and it doesn't make any sense. If you are supposed to fight with daggers, why ever throw them away?? And having far shot is pointless as you'd only ever throw them from <30ft in order to benefit from sneak attack damage

If it's not, then 'd be interested in hearing the reasons why it's there.

My understanding is the original invisible blade (before Complete Warrior) was a 10 level PrC, not a 5 level class. This class was based on both melee and ranged dagger fighting. The class was then split into two separate classes (invisible blade and master thrower), each five levels. Leaving Far Shot in the invisible blade prereqs is merely an oversight.

I can't speak for other DMs, but I house-rule that prereq out. I also allow the uncanny feint ability to be used as a swift action that works on all dagger attacks for the round (but that's a different can of worms ;)).

That's pretty much what I thought - I guess some sweet talking of the DM is in order.
