I have read other posts in other forums about the invisible blade being edited down from 10 levels to 5 levels and leaving the weird prerequisites of point blank shot and far shot. Is there any truth to this and is there anything from Wizards of the Coast has put out to correct the Invisible blade? Something I could bring to my DM? Any help would be appreciated.

The correct invisible blade is the one in CW, afaik. There was a version of the PrC in 3.0, either in Song and Silence or in Sword and Fist.

Right, but what I'm trying to figure out is why that a primarily melee Prestige Class has Point Blank Shot and Far Shot as pre-req's? It doesn't make any sense to me? You can't use feinting for ranged combat so why have the pre-req of ranged fighting?

AFAIK the other "part" of the old IB was adapted into the master thrower. Anyway, having ranged skills works well with daggers, but IB allows for katars/punch daggers or kukri, which can not normally be thrown (meaning you have to treat them as improvised, hence with a serious penalty to attack).

I would also allow if for any other martial-like weapon. IIRC the Shining South book had the Jambiya, 1d3 18-20/x2

Actually, you rumor is correct, the author of the class did make it a full ten levels, with throwing abilities included, but it was cut down. There was no "Previous" version in 3.0.

This is the full version as the author intended it: The Waking Lands (http://www.wakinglands.com/htm_files/the_prestige_classes_page.htm)
I played one (the WOTC published version) once, and my DM allowed me to change the prerequisite feats to Weapon Finesse, Weapon focus (dagger-like weapon) and Quickdraw.

That's not the case. No 3.0 version existed.

Dex has posted the link to the original PrC, which had ranged features as well as melee options, and for that version the requirements made sense.

I like the ruling Dex's DM made with respect to the prerequisites.

...change the prerequisite feats to Weapon Finesse, Weapon focus (dagger-like weapon) and Quickdraw.

Changing the Feat prereqs to this is exactly what I do with this PrC. It makes so much more sense than the ranged Feat prereqs.

Bah, I'd just drop the ranged feats and be done with it. It's only a 5 lvl PrC.

As the class is a feinting class I dropped the ranged feats and gave it skill focus (bluff) instead, works out nice for the IB in my group.
