Jaunter Teleport Query [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-18-07, 10:33 PM Sorry if this has been asked and answered but I looked and couldn't find it on the boards.

The Jaunter prc from the new Demonweb Pits book gains Teleport at 3rd level. Under the prc description it only says as per the spell.

Nowhere in the writeup could I find any mention of caster level.

If I use prc class level as I would typically do that limits the character to a Teleport of only 300 miles. Since Teleport is typically a 5th level wiz/sor/travel spell that would mean that it would typically have a minimum range of 900 miles.

The way the class is written it does not seem as though they were trying to make "short" range porters. (300 miles isn't short per se, but still...)

What does this community think the range should be?

06-19-07, 05:15 PM I have never seen the class, but here is good general assumption.

If it is a Supernatural ability, it usually uses total HD. If it is a SLA, use class level.

06-19-07, 06:00 PM I don't have the book in front of me...I'm writing from my phone whilst I am at work, but as I recall it is a sla. I wouldn't have factored the distance at 300 miles if that was not my belief.

The Elocater gets the same abilities, or very similar ones and does get to add his char level to Teleport range.

Just doesn't seem fair.
