i jsut got a fairly goodjedi- style class at http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=808953 and was wondering if anyone on these boardshad made a good jedi/sith master prc. i would make one myself but as i dont have enough players not to play myself and im the type who gets mad at books where the main charecters not uber-powerful i tend to make my classes and prcs way overpowered.

You know they have a d20 sort of jedi game. It's called Knights of the Old Republic. It's a pretty solid game that, with a little work, can be easily transfered to dnd. Assuming your dm is ok with it.

A Jedi is nothing more then a Soulkinfe/Erudite who's leeched of his master for a little to long...:P

Funny...I see a Jedi as a Warblade or Swordsage/warlock. The maneuvers can suffice for all the fancy tricks while you can invent some invocations for their powers. You could easily get a telekinesis invocation, the eldritch blast serves as force lightning, and he already has a charm invocation. There ya go LoL
(Sorry, I am just sick of seeing everyone say psionics for all Jedi related and really anything now that I think of it)

Hmmm let's see...

Jedi use innate abilities AKA "the force"
to master the force one must learn "discipline"
Psionics is a system of innate power
Psionics uses "discipline"s

Outcome - Jedi's and their Jedi MIND TRICKS are Psions!

I could see a Warlock maybe working for the Sith but their lack of martial ability makes it hard to swallow.

Just my :twocents:

alot of good points, only Jedi in general aren't so general.

There are 3 Jedi base class
Gaurdian: Combat focused
Sentinel: Even mix of both
Consular: Force focused

So depending on what you were looking for you could make any template work with a little tweaking,
I.E. Samuria for Obi-wan, Ranger for Bastila, Wizard for Yoda

and yes I am going for the super nerd award so don't bother bringing it up.

Or you can just play KotoR

Are these classes actually in the SW game, or were they "invented" for KotOR?

Anyway, I'd be thinking soulknife/psychic warrior gestalt, possibly with a PrC for better BAB.

Guardian and Counselor are in the SW d20 game. Both would be rather broken in a D&D setting. The big thing they get is huge, constant damage increases when using the Lightsabre. Closest thing D&D has is Psionics. Lets leave it at that.

yup yup, like I said it would take some tweaking. Although I don't think KOTOR had the lightsaber to overwhelming, at least not until you started upgrading it.

I was mentioning the classes of KOTOR so people understood there wasn't just one Jedi, so to make a Jedi template without making it really deep is kinda pointless.

That having been said I'd say the closest thing we have in DnD would probably be a Monk with some Bard spells.

on the sw boards, checked it out, didnt help a whole lot, i dont have the psionics handbook, and none of this is helping...at all. the only reason im interested in this is the base class that guy made which im currently using.

Psionics is in SRD, check d20srd.org. It's nice from WotC that they one of the oldest pseudo-magical systems in the OGL.

oddly enough I was thinking of how a light saber would translate into D&D. (Been reading too many Star Wars novels lately as I put together Saturdays adventure I guess).
Anyway, I don't think it translates well without coming out as being some kind of
+(whatever) everbright, fiery blast, force, keen, vorpal longsword or perhaps some kind of magic weapon property that allows you to channel psionic disiplines (don't use Psionics in my game but I alway see psion mini's and artwork contain guys with glowing weapons)
Perhaps I'll win the King Nerd award this year. Either way,
I find your lack of faith disturbing.

Brilliant energy x burst weapon, imo. You want to be able to cleave through armor. Vorpal might be a bit too much, but keen could definitely work. The only problem is the BE enhancement isn't very effective against objects iirc, maybe it could be turned off or modified to ignore hardness.
