the group im in as been playing an evil campaign for a bit, we are lvl 8 right now. our DM wants to get started with different characters so is rushing us a little with these, so he says to take our lvl 8's and turn them into 18. Im playing a rogue and I would love ideas of how to turn him into a killing machine. right now items I am using are, armor with demention door 100ft. mask of lies, hat of disgues, and I have many tricks. my sneak atk right now is at 4D8 because I have sacred strike which makes all sneak atk against evil chars a D8. so what are some thoughts and ideas of how to open this rogue up?

Check out the Rogue's Vest from DMGII and the deadly precision quality from MiC. Buff up hide into the stratosphere. Take shadow walker for HiPS. Why are you playing an exalted character in an evil campaign?

What else about your character is there?

How do you have an exalted feat in an evil campaign?

Is there a fighter-type in the group to help you flank? If so, the more attacks you can get in, the more total sneak attack damage you can do per round. I would recommend two weapon fighting (TWF).

Feats you will probably want:

TWF (obviously :P)
Improved TWF - 2nd offhand attack
Greater TWF - 3rd offhand attack
Weapon Focus - use the same weapon in each hand. Shortswords is a good choice (keep both light)
Improved Initiative - The earlier you strike, the more likely your foes are to be flat-footed.

A couple of others to consider:

Combat Reflexes (as a prereq)
Vexing Flanker - +4 to hit while flanking instead of +2
Adaptive Flanker - Easier to get into flanking position (you don't have to be across from your ally)

Anyway, if you want a deadly rogue, you just want ways to deal more total sneak attack damage, and ways to deal it more often. TWF is a pretty decent way to do it. Just remember that you may have to vary your tactics a bit. You'll want to work closely with that fighter-type to get into flanking position. Also, you will only get one attack if you move more than five feet. There is a feat (Two Weapon Pounce?) that allows you to attack with each weapon on a charge, which could be a nice opener to get close.

Just watch yourself so that you don't get killed in melee. You're still a rogue. ;)

the sacred strike feat doesnt say you have to be a good alligned character to use it, it just says that whenever I atk evil chars i get more damage.

But isn't it an exalted feat? Don't you have to be good alignment to take exalted feats?

I dont remember reading that part.. i could be wrong, it wouldnt be the first time. i just remember going through books looking at ways to do more sneak damage and I stumbled across sacred strike.

Sacred Strike is an Exalted feat. Not only do you have to be good to take exalted feats, but they are supernatural and can be taken away by the forces that granted them. Read about exalted feats on p.39 of BoED.
